The seasoned actress was born on the 26th day of November 1966, in Racine, Wisconsin where she grew up with her sister. Of German descent, she was named Kristin Neubauer by her parents. Kristin was a very active child during her childhood and engaged in every sporting activities within her reach. Additionally, growing up on a farm with lots of horses afforded her the pleasure of riding horses and she also fired shotguns.
After graduating from The Prairie School in Racine, she enrolled at Washington University where she studied fine arts. She modeled for a while before she ultimately decided to pursue acting and thus, moved to Los Angeles in 1994 to fulfil her dreams. However, her decision to foster a career in the performing arts did not undermine her first love in any way as she still continued to draw and paint in-between shooting movies, with some commissioned portraits to her credit.
