To back up Infiniti’s invitation, her mother spoke with Kalecia’s mom, April Smith, over the phone to ensure her that her daughter would be well taken care of. She also informed Mrs. Smith that the party would be a girls-only event and she would be the one to accompany them as it would take place in her home.

Meanwhile, Kalecia arrived at the party venue and met no one there, and she also later found out that two teenage boys were in attendance at what was supposed to be an all-girls party. After everyone had arrived, Kalecia Williams and her party mates were moved to another venue, the Hyatt Regency. Meanwhile, the reasons for moving them from the original venue to the hotel have not been disclosed yet.

The Death of Kalecia Williams 

Kelecia Williams was shot to death at the Regency Hotel lobby during the ungodly hours of December 26, 2020. After the party had ended, the social media sensation retired to her room at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, where she settled and started recording a TikTok video. Based on the TikTok video, an unknown person entered her room a few seconds into the video and interrupted her, causing further recordings to stop.

At the time that the video stopped, the police revealed that the deceased was assaulted within that time before she was shot in the groin. Upon hearing the gunshot, other people in nearby rooms rushed to her rescue, brought her out to the hotel lobby, and alerted the police as well. The police arrived together with the Emergency Medical Technicians who did their best to revive her. Unfortunately, the rising social media sensation gave up the ghost before they could get to the hospital, as the doctor confirmed her dead on their way.

This unfortunate incident occurred past midnight, from about 12:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Meanwhile, from Kalecia’s attack at the hotel to her admission to the hospital, her parents were not informed until they got a call from a mortuary keeper who broke the news to them.

Kalecia Williams’s death, which was available on her TikTok, made many condemn her killer. Her burial was held at Life Changing Work of Faith Church, Washington Road, and she was further buried at Forrest Hills Cemetery on January 2, 2021. Her friends paid their last respects and posted tributes online. She also attended a visitation at the mortuary, where she was kept at RW Andrews Mortuary at 1832 Washington Avenue prior to her burial.

Who Was The Prime Suspect in Kalecia Williams’s Murder?

According to the Police report, the prime suspect in Kalecia’s murder was Kerrie Brown, a high school teenage boy. After the police launched a preliminary investigation, Kerrie Browm was identified as the person who interrupted her video recording and eventually murdered her. The report also revealed that Kerrie and Kalecia had a brief interaction with her murderer and were also sexually abused shortly before she was killed.

Investigations further revealed that Kerrie Brown was also invited and was in attendance at the supposed all-girls party. He was later charged with and convicted of sexual and aggravated assault, possession of a weapon below the age of 18, reckless conduct, and felony murder. Being a minor, the convicted Kerrie Brown was sent to the Metro Youth Detention Center. He only served a one-year prison term and was later released upon Kalecia’s parents’ consent despite the fact that their only child was murdered gruesomely.
