Due to the aura of seriousness that surrounds their profession, medical doctors are mostly presumed to sacrifice their social life in order to succeed in their career. Notwithstanding this stereotype, Dr Travis Stork has succeeded in finding a balance between his jobs as an emergency physician as well as that of being a television personality.
He graduated with excellent grades from medical school and has made remarkable appearances in top-notch television shows like The Bachelor, The Doctors, The Rachael Ray Show, Entertainment Tonight and The Wendy Williams Show. Since 2008 when he assumed the role as host of The Doctors, the television personality has landed two Daytime Emmy nomination in recognition of his contribution to the show.
Dr Travis Stork’s Bio
The American physician was born on March 9, 1972, to parents – a mother and a father – simply identified as Donna and Roger. Further details about his family background and what it was like growing up has proved elusive but he’s the first doctor to come out of his family. The information available about his educational background shows that he was a bright student with good grades at Duke University where he graduated from and he later got his medical degree, also with honors, from the University of Virginia. Subsequently, Stork chose emergency medicine and started his residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
While at Vanderbilt, Dr Travis Stork appeared on The Bachelor, an American dating and relationship reality television series. His appearance was on the Season 8 of the show and at the finale, he chose schoolteacher Sarah Stone. Sadly, there wasn’t going to be a fairytale ending for the new couple even though they lived only a few blocks away from each other. Apparently, proximity didn’t do them much good as the couple soon called off the relationship just after a week of hooking up on the show.
Appearing in a reality show did not have any negative impact on his studies as Stork soon finished his residency and began practicing medicine in the emergency departments at his alma mater in addition to a hospital in Colorado.
Having had first-hand experience on reality TV shows, Stork perfectly hosts daytime medical/talk show The Doctors. The Los Angeles-based show first aired in September 2008 and is currently on its 10th season. Stork’s role on the talk show is to moderate a panel of three other physicians in their discussion which borders on different health issues. The health experts who come from different fields of medicine including pediatrics, plastic surgery, and obstetrics/gynecology also attend to questions from the audience.
After getting nominated at the 2010 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Informative, the show went on to win it.
Dr Travis Stork became a member of telehealth company, MDLIVE in October 2013. He joined the company as its chairman of Medical Advisory Board but only spent two years on the job, taking his leave in March 2015.
Amid his very busy career as an emergency physician and television personality, Stork found time to pen two New York Times Best Sellers – The Lean Belly Prescription and The Doctor’s Diet. He also has several other books about health which he published for public consumption.
As expected, the good doctor has an impressive bodybuild, not that we are surprised since he takes health seriously. Though his weight is not known, he is physically fit and stands tall at 6 ft 4 in (1.93 m).
Is Dr Travis Stork Married? Wife, Divorce
Though he enjoys massive success in his career, Dr Travist Stork has not enjoyed a successful relationship thus far. When he got married to a fellow doctor, pediatrician Charlotte Brown on June 30, 2012, it seemed he had found his missing rib. However, the marriage didn’t last up to three years as the medical couple called it quits and got a divorce on March 25, 2015.
Prior to his wedding with Charlotte, Stork was active in the dating scene. He dated Sarah Stone and Carrie Underwood but nothing worked out for him and either of the women. He later met and married Charlotte Brown with whom he lived for barely three years before divorce came knocking.
Since his first marriage hit the rocks, Stork has not shown much interest in dating at the moment. Seemingly, he wants to dedicate his time and energy to his show and to build his career further but be assured that when he meets someone special, you will get all the juicy details right here.
