Born in Austin, Texas, on October 25, 1985, Ciara happens to be the only child of her parents, Jackie and Carlton Clay Harris. Ciara’s early years were very interesting, however, they were not stable. This was because her father was a military officer and this meant that her family had to travel a whole lot, so it was hard for Ciara to make friends or to find any hobby for herself.
As an only child of a military parent, Ciara traveled the world, growing up in Germany, New York, Utah, California, Arizona, and Nevada. Eventually, her parents settled in Atlanta and sent Ciara to music classes to learn more about music as her passion and talent couldn’t be ignored anymore; Ciara was in her teens at this point. After watching Destiny’s Child on television, Ciara was convinced she was supposed to do music and decided to form the all-girl group that came to be known as Hearsay.
