In the early 2010s, Chachi Gonzales was undoubtedly one of the hottest names in the hip hop dancing world. She achieved fame by being the youngest member of the renowned dance crew I.aM.mE, which won the sixth season of the dance reality series America’s Best Dance Crew in 2011, where her moves were credited with winning the competition for her team. The dancer and choreographer have since gone ahead to add acting to her list of professions, as she looks to cement her legacy in the entertainment world.

Chachi Gonzales Bio (Age)

Chachi Gonzales was born Olivia Irene Gonzales, the last of five children to Mexican immigrant parents Guadalupe and David L. Gonzales, on January 23, 1996, in Houston, Texas. Her siblings are sisters Dominique and Leslie and brothers Chris and David.

From a very young age, 6 to be exact, Gonzales began to train as a ballet dancer. When she turned 9, she switched her attention to hip hop dancing after watching a hip hop dance crew perform live. With this in mind, she enrolled at Lanier Middle School where hip hop was one of the dance styles taught.

As the story goes, Chachi Gonzales first found it hard to get going but soon after began to improve. She showed remarkable improvement in her dancing that her teachers reportedly went on to make her the leader of the group she was a part of. By 2010, after having already made a huge impression on everybody that came to see her perform, Chachi was recruited to join the newly formed I.aM.mE. hip hop dance crew, becoming its youngest member. The crew went on to win America’s Best Dance Crew: Season of the Superstars competition, which brought nationwide fame for the young dancers.

In the following years, Chachi Gonzales profile continued to rise in the dance and choreography industry. At the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, she was one of the backup dancers for the Tribute to Britney Spears. The following year, she was named “Teen Choreographer of the Year” at the World of Dance 2012 Industry Awards and she went on to appear in several music videos; Adam Irigoyen’s “School Girl” (2012), Jason Chen’s “Thank You” (2013), and Meghan Trainor‘s “Lips Are Movin” (2014).

In 2014, Chachi Gonzales was cast to appear in the second season of teen drama East Los High. That same year, she played the lead role in The Legend of DarkHorse County (2014).

Chachi Gonzales was previously in a well-publicized relationship with Youtube sensation Josh Leyva. The two began dating sometime in 2014 after they met at the launch party of a YouTube channel in New York in April of that year. Despite what appeared to be a match made in heaven, the two called it quits in late 2017 over what was said to be commitment issues. After just a few months together, the two got engaged in August that year and in May 2019, they announced via their social media pages that they were expecting a child.
