Today might just be about Chris Pratt’s height and his other body measurements, but we are excited anyway. It’s Chris Pratt people! OK, that’s enough solo excitement, it’s time to let you in on what makes him such a hot topic. The actor was born Christopher Michael Pratt on June 21, 1979. His is an awesome story and we are sure we can get a laugh or two out of it.
Chris grew up wanting to be rich and famous, the thing is he didn’t have a definite game plan. So it was no surprise that halfway through his first semester at a local community college, he dropped out and was homeless for a while in Maui.
When describing the experience to The Independent, he said, ‘It’s a pretty awesome place to be homeless. We just drank and smoked weed and worked minimal hours, just enough to cover gas, food, and fishing supplies.’ It was while he was at his ‘dead end’ waiting job that he was actually discovered by actress and director Rae Dawn Chong.
His movie debut was in the short horror film Cursed Part 3, and he made several TV appearances and read for the roles of in James T. Kirk in the 2009 film Star Trek, and for Jake Sully in the 2009 film Avatar. The actor received a major blow to his self esteem when he did not get it, and was told he did not have that ‘it factor’.
Today he can proudly tell them to eat their words with him starring in blockbusters like, Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World. That’s enough of that for now, let’s get to the matter at hand beginning with Chris Pratt’s height.
Chris Pratt’s Height
It is obvious beyond doubt that the actor is quite lengthy horizontally. He stands quite tall at 6 feet 2 inches, that’s almost NBA tall guys. He’s actually one of the few actors who has a majority of people who believe that his listed height is actually his actual height. That is a rare feat right there.
There’s not much too say on the topic of Chris Pratt’s height, the guy is really tall, there you have it, but we do have a short list of other celebrities that stand as tall as the actor, in case you are in the mood for a little imaginative comparison.
Donald Trump, the President elect of the USA, Gerard Butler, a fellow actor and Arnold Schwarzenegger, a body builder turned actor turned politician turned actor again, all share Chris Pratt’s height.
Chris Pratt’s Weight
Even more interesting than the topic of Chris Pratt’s height is that of his weight and we are not just saying it this time around. The actor has been on a pretty cool weight loss and and gain journey. The actor currently weighs 84 kg which is 185 pounds, but he has been known to drop and add weight for his movie roles, let’s check that out.
Chris was more in the neighborhood of 300 pounds before he auditioned for Guardians of the Galaxy, he literally lost 60 pounds in a period of six months and he announced it to the world in a way that all announcements should be made.
He posted a picture on Instagram, the caption read ‘Six months no beer. #GOTG Kinda douchy to post this but my brother made me.’So that marked ‘bye bye’ to the lovable, bumbling character on Parks And Recreation or as you may remember know him the 280 pound alcoholic called Cully in the movie 10 Years. So seeing him almost half his size must have brought mixed feelings.
Nevertheless, the actor seems to be enjoying his new size and since it took quite a bit of work to attain that size, we doubt he is putting back that weight any time soon. So the next question is, how did he do it? He told Men’s Fitness that he did, ‘Three or four hours a day of just consistent, ass-kicking hard work.’
With the help of a personal trainer and nutritionist, the actor increased his caloric intake to 4,000 calories a day and drank tons of water. ‘I was peeing all day long, every day,’ Pratt told the magazine. ‘That part was a nightmare.’ Nevertheless, the Guardians of the Galaxy actor vowed he would never be fat again.
