And the other option of taking a break to have a baby was perhaps somewhat off the table.

She Froze Her Eggs as a “Backup Plan” to Having Kids in the Future
Similarly in her diet book titled “Pretty Intense,” Danica clarified that her job does not allow her time off, and being someone who was determined to succeed, she decided to have another plan. This other plan of hers involved undergoing IVF treatment (In vitro fertilization) wherein she froze her eggs as a backup plan or actual plan to have babies in the future.
However, the IVF treatment didn’t go as smoothly as she had expected it to be. The treatment medically referred to as oocyte cryopreservation involves removal of the ovary, slow or fast freezing of the eggs, and storing it below freezing temperature so they can be thawed and used as desired at a later date. In other to do all these, the patient will undergo a lot of hormonal changes which in the case of Danica, it caused her to lose a lot of weight.
If Danica eventually has kids in the future through IVF treatment, she will be following in the footsteps of prominent women like Michelle Obama, Chrissy Teigen, Celine Dio, Brooke Shields, etc.
Danica has Two Canine Children
Though Danica Patrick is yet to have biological children of her own, she is already doing well as a dog mum. Danica has two dogs named Dallas and Ella (also referred to as Ninja). While Dallas is a 10 year-old Siberian Husky, Ella is a 11 year-old Belgian Malinois.
The former racecar driver raised both dogs from the puppy stage. They are also living their best lives with Danica; going on tours with her as well as making cameo appearances. Danica considers her two dogs to be her children.
