Meagan Good and Husband DeVon Franklin’s Divorce and Relationships

At the time of the filing of their divorce, there was no specific reason that led to their breakup or divorce

While it lasted, Meagan Good and DeVon Franklin’s marriage inspired many people and rekindled their faith in love. The two were admired for their successful entertainment career as much as they were celebrated for embodying what one should look out for in a life partner. They went as far as co-authoring a relationship book titled The Wait: A Powerful Practice for Finding the Love of Your Life and the Life You Love.

In the New York Times bestseller, the Hollywood former power couple shared insight into their courtship and marriage, affirming that waiting, rather than hurrying things, can be beneficial in a lot of ways to any new relationship that’s hoping to thrive. The two took their time before they began dating and even abstained from sex until they got married.

The book and the way Meagan and DeVon went about their relationship kind of set them apart as an inseparable pair. It was hard to imagine that they would become part of the statistics for the high rate of divorce and failed relationships in Hollywood. For many, it was a big surprise when the former couple announced on social media in December 2021 that they would be walking away from their matrimony after nine years of marriage.

Even though they related in their statement that it was a mutual decision with “no one at fault”, people have been relentless about uncovering what led to the decision to end their marriage. This has led to several speculations about the breakup and the fact that their statement described it as “the next best chapter in the evolution of our love” has only fueled the suppositions.

Meagan Good and DeVon Franklin Announced Their Separation In December 2021

The famous actress and the popular entertainment executive were married for nine years before they decided to end their marriage. It came as a surprise to many when Meagan and DeVon issued a joint statement on social media wherein they disclosed that they would be getting a divorce. The statement they both shared on their Instagram pages came with a picture of the two, and an opening paragraph that asserts that after “much prayer and consideration”, they agreed to go into their futures separately but are forever connected.

Acknowledging that their marriage was six months shy of reaching its 10th anniversary, the former couple proclaimed that their love is eternal, but immediately specified that separating is the next best chapter in the evolution of their love. They added that neither of them caused the breakup, “there’s no one at fault”, their statement read.

Their Busy Schedules Might Have Contributed to Their Divorce

While the end of their union was an unexpected development for the public, those close to them have expressed that it was something they envisioned. People quoted several sources who divulged that the two had been hardly spending any time together.

It is said that their work schedules kept them away from each other almost always. Even when they get to spend quality time together, it usually lasts for only a few hours. What intensified the speculations was the fact that the actress was seen at a Halloween party without her wedding band. DeVon put the notion of them having marital issues to rest on the 2nd of December 2021 when he took to Instagram to support Meagan for her Camille role in the Amazon comedy television series, Harlem. He described Meagan as one of the most talented actors in the world. “…I’m so proud of my love…”, he declared. Meagan responded to the post, she thanked DeVon and proclaimed her love for him.
