Christina Milian met her ex-husband in 2009, shortly after her 3-year relationship with Andre “Dre” Lyon had ended. Exactly how they met hasn’t been revealed to the media, but given the fact that they are both musicians, one would assume that they probably met while working on a music project together, even though there is no evidence to support this fact.
It didn’t take long for rumors to start floating around that they were romantically involved. These rumors began as early as February 2009, and the former couple invariably confirmed these rumors in March 2009. By June 2009, they were engaged and announced the engagement to the media.
Milian and Nash eloped to Las Vegas, Nevada, in September 2009, and on September 4, 2009, they exchanged marital vows at the Little White Chapel, Las Vegas, Nevada. The child was a girl, and she was named Violet Nash. Violet was Christina’s first at the time and The Dream’s fourth as he already had three other children with his ex-wife, Nivea.
News of their daughter’s birth was completely overshadowed just five months later when The Dream was photographed in an intimate pose while on vacation with a woman believed to be his assistant at the time. Several reports then popped up that The Dream had filed for divorce in February, shortly before the birth of their daughter later that month.
Christina, however, maintained that their marital relations had continued despite that and that she had tried to become who she was not just so her marriage could work. The picture of her then-husband cheating, which she said she suspected all along, was the straw that broke the camel’s back. By September 2011, they were legally and officially separated, and their divorce was finalized on October 23, 2011.
Their daughter, Violet, was just three days shy of her 8th month birthday when the divorce between Christina and The Dream was finalized. Their marriage, including the period of separation, had lasted for just over a year. With regards to co-parenting, The Dream once summarily stated that he didn’t want to be too involved in raising his daughter because it would breed expectations he was not ready to fulfill.

Christina Milian is currently, and in contrast to her first marriage to The Dream, happily married to French R&B singer Matt Pokora (real name: Matthieu Tota, born September 26, 1985). Milian is exactly four years older than her husband, with whom she shares the same birthday of September 26. Fate designed their meeting to happen in Matt’s home country of France when the actress/singer was on vacation.
They met on a nice day in a Paris restaurant in August 2017. The restaurant manager played his part in getting the couple, who was alone at the time to talk to each other due to their shared interest in music. An idea that didn’t sit well with Christina at first, but one she is now very thankful for as Matt deployed all his French charm and charisma to woo her.
One particular source reported that on their very first meeting, Matt told Christina that they were going to have a child together, and when she remarked that she already had a daughter, he simply told her that she didn’t have a son. A day after their wedding, the couple let it slip that they were expecting a second child, Christina’s third, together.
