During a GQ interview in 2019, Mike Epps debunked the rumors making rounds that he was related to Omar Epps. He stated that they had the same master but were not cousins.

Earlier in 2010, an article comparing the relationship between this duo was circulating. The writer insinuated that Mike and Omar might be cousins, however, these claims were not true.

Similarly, in 2021, an Instagram user shared a picture of these two black actors stating that they were first cousins. The post insinuated that they are related to their mothers but again, these actors were born in different cities and their roots have not been traceable to each other.

Moreso, fans believe that Mike and Omar are related because their birthdates are close to each other. Mike was born in 1970 and Omar in 1973. Also, the close gap between the advent of their on-screen careers is rather suspicious. Omar started acting in 1988 while Mike joined a year later.

However, despite these similarities, they have obvious differences. First, they have taken different paths in the entertainment industry. Aside from being an actor, Mike is a comedian and musician. The case is not so for Omar, he had not tried other entertainment paths except for acting but he has a book in his name titled From Fatherless To Fatherhood.

Consistent with the foregoing, Omar and Mike do not take up similar roles in Hollywood. The former usually acts like the notorious youngster and also takes up the role of an athlete while the latter is usually the comic character in most movies he appears in.

Furthermore, Mike was initially married to Mechelle McCain in June 2006 but the marriage ended in September 2017. Then he tied the knot with the OWN Network executive, Kyra Robinson in 2019. He is also a father of seven children.

Omar Epps is an American-born actor, rapper, and screen producer. He was born in Brooklyn, New York City on July 20, 1973. His mother, Bonnie Maria, was a school principal. Omar is 49 years old and was raised by his mother.

In addition to this, Omar started acting in 1988. He first acted as Charlie in a short film titled The Green Flash. Then he starred in the First Time Felon and The Mod Squad, however, he is well known for his role in the FOX medical TV series, House.

As a Hollywood actor, he usually plays the role of an athlete or a problematic teenager. For instance, in the movie Love & Basketball, Omar starred as a basketball star who had an unsteady relationship with a female basketball player. Also, he portrayed a baseball player in Major League 11 and many more.

Moreso, Omar has an array of awards to boast about. He won one MTV movie award, one Screen Actors Guild award, and one Black Reel award. Also, he is a nine times NAACP image award winner and twice a Teen Choice Award winner.

Omar Epps And Mike Epps Have Never Worked Together

Notwithstanding the rumors about their relationship, these two live independently of each other. It is not yet clear if there is any existing rapport between these black actors but none of them have said anything about each other except debunk the rumors of being related.

At the time of writing, Mike Epps and Omar Epps had never appeared in any movie together. Despite being in the industry for over two decades, their acting careers seem to drift away from each other but fans are optimistic that they would one day work on-screen together.

In another development, there are barely any pictures of these two black thespians together. None of these celebrities have appeared on each other’s Instagram feed. They have also not revealed if they will have any future projects together.
