The Couple Eloped and She Became Will Campbell’s Wife in 2012

Both at the age of 19, Lindsie Chrisley and Will Campbell got married in January 2012 but their wedding was not a big family wedding as one would expect from a Chrisley family whose patriarch constantly preaches on the importance of family. Lindsie and Will eloped for their wedding much to the anger of her father who called the move a disrespectful one.

In his interview with E News Todd Chrisley described how irritated he was by their decision, adding that his daughter should never have condoned such disrespect from Will. Todd was even more shocked after learning five months later that his daughter was expecting a son with Will.

Chrisley also told E News how he did not like how the marriage started as his son-in-law Will Campbell never asked for her daughter’s hand from him. However, after the couple had their son Jackson later in the same year that they got married, Todd seemed to have buried the hatchet and welcomed them back into the family.

Like the rest of the Chrisley family, Will Campbell began featuring in the family’s hit reality show Chrisley Knows Best, however, he made only a few appearances as he did not seem to get along well with Todd due to the many differences between them, however, the men tried to figure out how to keep an amicable relationship in order to please Lindsie.

Their Marriage Got Rocky After They Had Their Son, Jackson

Everything appeared to be going well for Lindsie Chrisley and her husband Will Campbell until it was not. They did pretty well by themselves before reconciling with the Chrisleys and even built their first home together. Todd would even describe his son-in-law as a hard worker.

So what went wrong? As Lindsie would come to reveal, she and Will had grown apart after they had their son Jackson, she said that she began having an increasing feeling of independence and direction and that she had invested so much time in their son alone that it began to take a toll on her marriage.

Lindsie told Today that her focus on her son alone was not intentionally done to harm her marriage but it just happened because of the “newness” in their schedule. She said that Will was her first love but that she had become more confident in herself and had outgrown the relationship.

In 2016, Lindsie Chrisley filed for divorce, reports also had it that after Lindsie filed for the divorce, she quickly moved to Nashville where she stayed for a couple of months because she needed to clear her mind and “figure things out.”

Lindsie and Will Campbell Reconciled in 2018

While away in Nashville to “clear her head,” Lindise found it hard to go through with the divorce proceedings. Twice, they canceled a meeting to follow through on the divorce process.

Aafter more than a year apart from each other, during which they continued to exchange calls and texts, the two realized that they were truly meant to be together and withdrew the divorce papers in the early months of 2018.

Towards the end of 2018, it became clear that indeed the couple was back to how things were at the start as Linsdsie’s several Instagram posts featuring photos of her husband would suggest.

In one of those posts, Lindsie wrote an epistle on how love is not always going to be perfect and sometimes would not be easy as it is not a fairy tale or storybook. “Love is overcoming obstacles, facing challenges, fighting to be together, holding on & not letting go,” the former reality TV star wrote.

They Finally Parted Ways in 2021

In July 2021, Lindsie announced that she and her husband were no longer together. She shared the news via an Instagram post confirming that they both “mutually decided” that going their separate ways was the best for their family. The couple later finalized their divorce in October of the same year, just about 3 months after news of their split was made public.

As revealed in a copy of the divorce settlement (filed on September 8, 2021) obtained by PEOPLE, Lindsie and her former husband, Will Campbell, had divided some of their assets and sold the rest, including their home in Georgia, and are now living separately.

It was also revealed in the document that the former couple opted for joint custody of their son, Jackson, with no agreement on neither alimony nor spousal support.

Lindsie Has Had A Tumultuous Relationship With Her Birth Family

There have been many ups and downs in the Chrisley family and Lindsie’s unsteady relationship with her father is one of the major issues the family has faced. Though there have been good times between the two as some episodes of the Chrisley Knows Best show has revealed, the issues between the two seem to be unending.

One of the highlights of their good moments was when Todd presented her with a big boob-shaped cake to celebrate her successful recovery from the breast augmentation surgery she had… but their good times never seem to last.

At the start of the family’s reality show, Lindsie who is Todd’s first child whom he had with his secret ex-wife Teresa Terry (who is said to have been his high school sweetheart) seemed to be doing just fine with the entire family. She even once referred to Todd’s current wife Julie Chrisley as her best friend.

However, like with most reality shows, as new episodes unraveled, the cracks in the family began to show.

Lindsie is the eldest of five children of the Chrisley family. She has a brother named Kyle Chrisley and three half-siblings namely Savannah Chrisley – a contestant in the 2016 Miss Teen USA pageant, Grayson and Chase Chrisley.

Lindsie’s issues with her family culminated in her leaving the show in 2017. She said she made the decision following an off-camera altercation she had with her step-mother Julie Chrisley who adopted her after she married Todd.

It was after leaving the show that she focused more on her podcast where she has revealed more details about her time with her birth family. In one of the episodes of the podcast, Lindsie revealed that her family made her feel like an outcast, though she realized they were not doing so intentionally.

She added that the reason she left the show was that the environment around her family was too volatile and that she also needed to leave for her well-being.

In an interview with Dr Phil in 2019, Lindie Chrisley said that she initially never wanted to be a part of the Chrisley Knows Best reality show but only agreed to feature on the show in order to please her father. She also added that she was already having a rocky relationship with him in her college years when she decided to elope with Will Campbell.

Lindsie’s Father Accused Her of Cheating on Will Campbell

The troubles between Lindsie Chrisley and her family did not stop after she left the family’s reality TV show. In mid-2019, after her father and step-mother Julie were indicted in tax evasion charges, it was rumored that Lindsie had helped the feds in their investigation to indict her father.

It was after these details surfaced that Todd and his son Chase accused Lindise of cheating on her husband Campbell with reality stars Robby Hayes and Josh Murray back in 2016 when she was still legally married to Campbell.

Her father said of the time that he had been hiding details of her extra-marital affair since 2016 for her own good but that he was surprised that she had begun telling all sorts of lies about him.

Lindsie denied and fired back at her father, saying that he had attempted to blackmail her by threatening to release a sex tape of her with Robby Hayes if she co-operated with the feds to release dirt on him.

Her father called her claims a complete lie saying that she went to the sheriff’s office to accuse her brother of buying sex tapes of her and Hayes. Lindsie’s dad and Julie pled not guilty to the charges and were released on bonds of $100,000 each. They were facing a possible 30 years behind bars.

But was there ever a sex tape? Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department closed the investigation saying that in their jurisdiction, the incident that Lindsie accused her father of did not occur.

Additionally, Robby Hayes with whom she allegedly made the sex tape explained during his appearance on the “Housewives and Vanderpump” podcast that there was no sex tape made, but rather, they only got caught by a security camera. He described the camera as a puppy camera in her friend’s living room and only took videos of them sleeping on the couch.

Whether or not there was something between her and those reality TV stars, it definitely was not strong enough to keep her away from Campbell with whom she soon reconciled in 2018. Hayes also mentioned in the interview that he and Lindsie had been friends for many years.

The alleged cheating rumors made many believe that indeed Lindsie and Campbell were definitely headed for the rocks this time, but this never happened. Several internet users bombarded her with questions about the status of her relationship and she did respond to one.

When one of her fans who seemed to be on her side commented that her marriage was her business, Lindsie responded saying that she was very much happy with her marriage, debunking the rumors for good.

Lindsie Does Not Follow Her Father On Social Media

It appears as though the cheating allegations put out by her father and step-brother Chase really did get to her as Lindise is now somewhat estranged from her birth family. Neither part follow each other on social media and in January 2021, her step-mother Julie revealed that she does not have any correspondence with Lindsie but that regardless, she does wish her well.

Her father has shown his frustration about the state of their relationship by posting cryptic messages on social media. Though he didn’t tag her, it was not difficult for fans to perceive that he was referring to Lindsie. In the message he said; “One of the hardest things you will ever have to do is grieve the loss of a person who is still alive.”

In her podcast in October 2019, Lindsie Chrisley revealed that she had made the resolve not to speak publicly about her family anymore. While her relationship with her birth family may not be rosy, Lindsie does wish them well.

When her father tested positive for Covid-19 in April 2020, she took to social media to slam internet users who were celebrating Todd’s diagnosis. Her attorney would later tell Us Magazine that Lindsie was very saddened about her father’s diagnosis and was not happy that he had contracted the virus.

She also told the publication that she did not want anything bad to happen to her father.
