JayDaYoungan Spent His Life in Louisiana

JayDaYoungan was born Javorius Tykies Scott on the 15th of July, 1998. The rapper was born to his father, Kenyatta Scott, and his mother in Bogalusa, Louisiana. There are no clear details about his family – what his parents do for a living or if they are still together. There is also nothing known about his family members and relatives on the internet.

Even though so much about his family members is yet to be known, we know he has a sister named Kenya Janell. She only came into the public’s consciousness after her brother’s death when she initially denied the news before later corroborating the story. It is unknown if she was the only sibling of the late rapper.

JayDaYoungan was raised in his hometown, Bogalusa, Louisiana, and he spent all his life there. He is an American citizen with an African-American heritage. However, details of the kind of childhood he had have not been made public yet.

In addition to this, JayDaYoungan did not have a college degree. He dropped out of high school to pursue his dream of being a rapper, and he released his first playlist as a teenager. The rapper showed the potential to become the best in the game, however, he had his life snuffed out just a few days after his 24th birthday on July 27, 2022.

JayDaYoungan was Shot Dead in His Hometown at the Age of 24

On Wednesday, July 27, 2022, the Louisiana-born rapper Javorius Tykies, popularly known as JayDaYoungan, was murdered. On that fateful day, he was sitting in front of his home in Bogalusa alongside his father, Kenyatta Scott, around 5 pm in the evening when a black truck pulled up in front of their home.

Suddenly, three armed men jumped out of the truck and started shooting at the rapper and his dad. As they tried to run into their house, two other persons came from the sides and joined in the shooting. JayDaYoungan’s father, Kenyatta Scott, who was also armed, shot back at the assailants while the rapper, who was unarmed, was shot eight times.

After the shootings, Scott Sr. had two shots to his hand, but the 24-year-old Louisiana rapper was badly injured and had lost a lot of blood. They were both taken to Our Lady of Angels Emergency ward, where his dad was resuscitated and became stable. However, it was a sad end for JayDaYoungan.

The rapper had lost so much blood before they arrived at the hospital, and after undergoing surgery, JayDaYoungan gave up the ghost in the hospital. He was just 24 years old at the time of his death. His remains were laid to rest on August 7, 2022, as his interment was conducted in a hall owned by his former high school in Bogalusa.

JayDaYoungan Murderers are Yet to Be Found

A few minutes after the shooting episode, the police were notified. The police confirmed that they had received an emergency call just before 6 pm on Wednesday. They also got another call about a shooting in the same locality around 7 pm.

According to police reports, a car was struck by bullets, but none of its occupants was hurt. They have linked the two shooting episodes together. Also, the police suspect the open fire to be related to gang issues.

However, Mr. Kenyatta Scott has a different opinion. He does not believe that his son’s murder has anything to do with gang issues. In his defense, he said that JayDaYoungan has not had any problem with anyone in recent times. Rather, he blamed the murder on jealousy. He explained that some people are uncomfortable with his son’s success and wealth.

The Bogalusa police have started investigations. But their efforts do not seem to bear fruit. Until now, no one has been arrested in connection to the murder. Also, the police had said that they were looking for only one shooter denouncing JayDaYoungan’s father’s narration of the events of the fateful evening.

He was a Talented Singer and Rapper

When JayDaYoungan was slain, America lost a talented youngster. The late rapper has always had a flair for music as a child. When he was just 19 years old, he released his first mixtape, Ruffwayy. In less than 30 days, his song, Interstate, received about 4 million views on YouTube.

Afterward, he dropped another mixtape titled “The Real Jumpman 23.” It had 13 tracks that spanned 32 minutes, including Sliding Freestyle and Muddy Situation. Then he dropped two other mixtapes dubbed “Wake Up” and “Taking Off.”

Similarly, his song Elimination from the mixtape “23” was his first major league song. As of November 2022, it had over 62 million streams on Spotify. He then released a mixtape, “Forever 23,” which featured songs like Thot Thot and Purge. Thot Thot and Purge had 43.9 and 22 million streams on Spotify, respectively.

In addition to this, Forever 23 was rated 3.5 points out of 5 points by AllMusic. It also ranked 86 on the Billboard 200 and occupied the 37th position on the top R&B/Hip-hop Albums. Forever 23 was JayDaYoungan’s first song to make it to the chart.

Also, his mixtape “Endless Pain” became popular for songs like War Ready and Repo. War Ready garnered 6.5 million streams, while Repo had 4 million streams as of January 2020. The mixtape also ranked 70 and 37 on Billboard 200 and the top R&B/Hip-hop Albums.
