Born in Rockville, Maryland to an African-American father named Robert Bryson Hall and a white mom, Robert was raised in a dysfunctional household where he grew up watching his brothers distribute crack cocaine around the neighborhood. His father wasn’t faring any better, he was a cocaine addict who was absent for most of his early childhood. His mother was an alcoholic and was unable to properly provide the emotional and moral support needed for the upbringing of a child.

Logic attended Gaithersburg High School, but his time there was fraught with a lot of issues as he was unable to focus and excel in his academics. Around 10th grade, he started skipping classes and as a result failed woefully to the extent that he had to drop out of school.

The home front wasn’t any easier either. So at the age of 17, he moved out of his family house to escape an abusive household and pay more attention to his music. To survive, he had to do a lot of menial jobs while he waited for his big break.

How Logic Rose to Fame

When Def Jam Recordings and Visionary Music Group came calling, Logic was finally gaining some attention from heavyweights in the industry. With them, he released his debut album titled Under Pressure in 2014. He released his second album titled The Incredible True Story the following year.

The most recent project in his body of work is his fifth studio album, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. Released on the 10th of May 2019, the album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, making it his third album to reach the top of the chart.
