Shannon Noelle Bream is an American journalist, attorney, and news anchor. She graduated with a JD (Juris Doctor) from Florida State College of Law in 1996, after which she moved to Tampa, Florida. She practiced law for over four years, specializing in race discrimination and sexual harassment cases.

In 2001, she moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, where she joined the CBS affiliate WBTV as the evening and late-night news reporter. In 2004, she joined Washington D.C.’s NBC affiliate WRC-TV, where she was a weekend anchor who covered general assignments. While at WRC-TV, Bream met Brit Hume, the managing editor of the Fox News Channel’s Washington bureau; he encouraged her to submit audition tapes to Fox News.

In 2016, Carlson filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Fox News chairman Roger Ailes.
