She went on to have the most amazing rookie season in US gymnastics history. Shawn Johnson won five gold at the Pan American games and three at the World Championships. Bio (Age)

Johnson was born as Shawn Machel Johnson on January 19, 1992, Des Moines, Iowa, to Doug and Teri Johnson. She is an only child. As a kid, Shawn had the unusual habit of climbing cabinets and tables. As a result, her parents signed her up for gymnastics classes when she was just 3 years old. Three years later, she would begin training at Liang Chow’s newly opened gymnastics school in West Des Moines.

Her parents were right about her gymnastic abilities as Johnson improved rapidly in training. She trained for 25 hours per week as opposed to the recommended 40 hours. Nevertheless, with lesser than normal time dedicated to training, Johnson still managed to beat her peers.

In 2007, the year she turned pro, Johnson was awarded the Longines Prize for Elegance. She attended Valley High School but had to finish her high school education through home tutoring. In 2013, She got admitted to the Vanderbilt University but withdrew before classes began.

Andrew East was born on September 17, 1991, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is just one year older than Johnson. He attended Indianapolis (IN) North Central where he began playing football. After graduation, Andrew enrolled at Vanderbilt College where he played college football as a long snapper. After earning his undergraduate degree, East also earned a Masters of Business Administration from the same school.

He began his pro-football career with the Kansas City Chiefs on May 11, 2015. He was signed by the Oakland Raiders in April 2016 but was waived four months later.
