They met for the first time in 2004 when they were both working as assistants to Brian Kelly who was the then head coach of the school’s football team. BreAnne’s first impression of her husband was far from a favorable one. She claims that he had yelled obscenities at her for getting in the way of a drill.

Her husband claims the incident is one he doesn’t remember but BreAnne insists that it did happen and that she had even sworn not to work with him after that.

To his credit, Matt Lafleur was a very different person off the field and even managed to convince BreAnne to go on a date with him. They soon became a couple after the first date and were very expressive in their love for each other.
