Where is Sean Spicer and What is He Doing Now?

Arguably, never has the White House seen more drama in America’s entire history than it has during the time of President Donald Trump. With unending claims of wrongdoings by the president, members of his administration have also not been left out of the party. One person who had his fair share of the drama before it came to a quick end is Sean Spicer.

Spicer was announced as a part of the administration shortly after Trump won the elections, first as a Communications Director and then as a White House Press Secretary before he finally decided to resign only a few months after he was appointed. The short period he spent in the office was not enough to prevent the cloud of controversy that surrounded his tenure. Since leaving the Trump administration, Spicer has been been involved in many things, most of which have been as controversial as his time in the White House, including an appearance on the TV show, Dancing With The Stars. The big question now is what has Sean Spicer been up to? Let’s find out.

What Happened to Sean Spicer After He Resigned?

Since leaving his position in the White House, Spicer’s place in the administration has been taken over by Anthony Scaramucci who would spend an even shorter time than Sean, and then various others. On his part, Spicer has, as noted, moved on to other things and unlike many others who have left the administration, he has neither hidden nor maintained a quiet life.

Before he was appointed, Spicer, who was not scared of courting controversy, worked on various political campaigns before joining the United States Navy Reserve, working as a public affairs officer. He also held different offices, mostly within the Republican Party, but it was after the victory of Donald Trump during the 2016 US Presidential election that he caught the public eye. With his first statement to the press, he gained notoriety after he attacked members of the press, claiming they underestimated the crowd size of Trump’s inauguration, insisting it received the largest crowd any inauguration had ever seen. Period!

With a rocky relationship when it comes to facts and the press, the last place many would expect Spicer to be after his rather unforgettable time in White House was in the media but that is exactly where he is, working as a journalist. He was announced as a special correspondent with Extra news magazine. This did not go down well with a lot of people who accused Extra of showing they were cool with the behavior of Spicer as a press secretary, including his attacks on the media.

Before he got there, Spicer made a very shocking appearance at the 2017 Emmy Awards, only a couple of months after he left his White House job. In the cameo appearance, he spoofed his image when he predicted that the event would have the largest audience than any Emmy, Period! Like most of those who have worked with the Trump administration, Spicer secured a book deal which led to the publishing of his 2018 book, The Briefing: Politics, the Press, and the President.

What Is Up to Now?

In September 2019, Sean Spicer made his debut on Dancing With the Stars as a contestant. The former communications director for the White House joined 11 other contestants to be a part of the 28th season of the reality TV show. Although his first performance on the show was not electrifying, not that anyone expected it to be, it generated a lot of interest from those who wanted to catch a glimpse of him dancing on national TV.

While he continues to dance on the show, his appearance has generated a lot of backlash from people who feel he should not have been given the platform as it would only try to normalize his infamous time as the press secretary during which he lied about a lot of things, including Trump’s inauguration and the firing of Michael Flynn who was Trump’s National Security Adviser. That said, he has accepted that there were times that he messed up while in service.

Apart from dancing, Spicer also has other things going for him. He was appointed to the Board of Visitors at the US Naval Academy by President Trump in August 2019. More so, he has been a part of Worldwide Speakers Group since leaving office. Through the group, he has spoken about his controversial tenure among other things.
