Victoria Beckham’s Bio
Victoria Beckham was born Victoria Caroline Adams on the 17th of April 1974 in Harlow, Essex, England to Anthony William Adams and his wife, Jacqueline Doreen (née Cannon). She has two younger siblings; sister Louise, and brother, Christian Adams. Victoria was able to grow up in opulence thanks to the successful electronics wholesale business that her parents built.
Inspired by the musical performances she saw in the teen musical film, Fame (1980), Victoria decided upon a musical career. She had the support of her parents who gladly paid her tuition at the Jason Theatre School. While attending, St. Mary’s High School in Cheshunt, Victoria Beckham joined the band, Persuasion.
Upon seeing a newspaper advert in need of extroverted ladies who could sing and dance, Beckham got auditioned and became part of the all-girl group, Spice Girls formed in 1994. Their first single “Wannabe” was a top hit propelling Victoria and her bandmates to fame. The group enjoyed tremendous success throughout the late 90s before calling it quits. They sold at least 80 million records to become the best selling girl band of all time.
Victoria, like other members of the band, embarked on a solo career but none of them was able to match their success as a group. Following the financial troubles of Telstar, the band to which she was signed, Victoria ended her music career and began a career in fashion.
She had made a foray into the fashion industry in 2000 as a model, walking Fashion runways and representing top brands like Dolce and Gabbana, Rocawear, Marc Jacobs and more. In 2007 she started a denim line DVB Style followed by an eyewear and cosmetic line V-Sculpt. In September 2008, Victoria launched her self-named fashion line as an umbrella for all her fashion efforts.
Victoria Beckham might have come from a rich home but she has successfully built an empire of her own. During her Spice Girls days, she earned about £75 million annually. She made £10 million from their 2007 reunion tour. Her foray into fashion has even been more successful. Victoria Beckham is a fashion icon of international repute with big brands scrambling for a collaboration with her brand.
The Victoria Beckham Fashion label now worth over £130 million is the biggest money-maker of the Beckham Empire. In 2012, it recorded annual sales of over £60 million. Victoria also runs a lower-priced diffusion label launched in 2011 and owns a line of kids wears. She employs about a 100 staff across her London and Hong Kong stores.
Like her husband, she continues to ink endorsement deals with brands like Range Rover. Book sales and TV appearances also contribute to her wealth which is worth £450 million making her one of Britain’s wealthiest women.
Husband (David Beckham) and Children
