Travis Fimmel is an accomplished Australian actor and former model who owes his rise to prominence to his role as Ragnar Lothbrok in the History Channel popular series, Vikings. Born on July 17, 1979, the hunky Australian began his career as a model after he was discovered by a talent scout working for Chadwick Models agency while working out at a gym in Melbourne.

During his active years in the modeling industry, Fimmel modeled for Calvin Klein underwear and also appeared on the cover of W model management in 2002 along with iconic model Gisele Bündchen. He switched to acting from modeling in 2009 after carving a niche for himself as one of the successful models of our time.

Fimmel’s career began shortly after he graduated from an acting school in Los Angeles. He was trained by iconic Hollywood acting trainer Ivana Chubbuck, who according to reports, also trained powerhouses like Charlize Theron, Brad Pitt, and Eva Mendes. Hunky Australian actor Travis is the son of Jennie Fimmel and Chris Fimmel. The last child in a family of three, Travis was born near Echuca, Victoria, on July 15, 1979. His father, Chris is a cattle farmer while his mother, Jennie, is a recreation officer for the disabled. Growing up, Travis’s only ambition was to become a professional rules footballer. His passion for rules football saw him relocate to Melbourne in his late teens to feature for the St Kilda Football Club in the AFL.

However, his quest to fulfill his childhood dream crashed like a pack of cards just before the beginning of the season as he sustained a major leg injury that left him devastated and embittered.

The Echuca-born modeling sensation is not married yet but unverified sources claim he could be dating actress Paula Patton, who was his on-screen girlfriend in the movie, Warcraft.

Travis Fimmel has, however, dated over seven girls since his career got into full swing. His first girlfriend was an American model known as Joy Bryant. Bryant and Fimmel called it quits before the latter’s rise to stardom. The Australian actor is said to have also had a short-lived relationship with a Russian lady called Nita Kuzmina. He also had an intimate relationship with Ceara-Lynch, a beautiful American pornstar.

Travis then dated English professional singer Nicole Appleton. The pair started dating around 1999 but called it quits after three years of being together. He has been linked to Rachael Hunter, a Kiwi Model he dated for some time. Shortly after his separation from Hunter in 2002, Fimmel and American model Jessica Miller became friends. Unfazed by his past rocky relationships, Travis began another search for true love which he eventually found in the arms of Merrin Dungey. The pair couldn’t keep up for long as their relationship ended in 2003.
