When you talk about extraordinary and successful women, Tracee Ellis Ross would definitely not be left out as she is a woman with many graceful talents. The long list of things that have made her popular include being an actress, an advocate, a fashion designer, beautician, political opiner and a holder of an honorary doctorate from Brown University which is her alma mater.
In 2017, the actress made history by being the first black woman in over 30 years to win the prestigious Golden Globe Award for best actress in a comedy sitcom. She revealed that her professional acting started in 1996 in the film Far Harbor and around that period, she was also the host of the Lifetime sitcom, The Dish.
With the success of her appearance in the series and her role as host, she landed a studio role in the 2000 movie Hanging Up which was also her first major studio role. Tracee Ellis Ross also starred in the MTV sitcom The Lyricist Lounge Show and as a lead actress in the sitcom Girlfriends which earned her an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series and another Image Award in 2009. All these prepared the stage for her recent Golden Globe Award which she won from the success of the ABC sitcom Black-ish.

The movie star is the daughter of music icon Diana Ross. Her father is a popular businessman and music manager, Robert Ellis Silberstein who has managed famous musicians like Billy Preston, Rufus, Meat Loaf, Status Quo and even his ex-wife Diana Ross. Tracee’s father is said to be of Jewish ancestry and was married to her mum in 1970 but they ended up parting ways in 1977.
According to the actress, her mum has been a great inspiration and motivation in the pursuit of her career. She describes her as a strong and strict parent who ensured her kids were brought up properly. She also encouraged them to pursue their names and not live in the shadows of her fame.

Is She Married with Kids, Who’s Tracee’s Husband?
At the 2017 Glamour Women of the Year Summit, the award-winning actress revealed how interesting it was to be 45 years unmarried and childless. She goes further to list all her good features and achievements like being a good friend, a lover of nature as she believes in recycling, a good home keeper, a friend that is always there for her friends no matter the circumstances and to crown it all, Tracee Ellis Ross has landed a Golden Globe Award.
However, she finds it quite appalling that in spite of all her attributes and achievements, some people actually do not consider them as being fulfilling and they keep taunting her for her relationship status. Ross made it clear that the society is actually judging her for her choice, making it look like all she has achieved doesn’t matter because she is a woman that is unmarried and with no kids to call her own.
Well, the boisterous actress is not one of such people who can be pushed around as she is known to have a mind of her own and would not let other people’s expectations of her life define who she is or what she does. She believes she has full ownership of her life and would rather live her life chasing her dreams which would surely bring her fulfilment. Being an advocate, Ross encourages women to believe in their completeness and not to measure it using the societal yardstick; rather she wants them to use what they believe would bring them fulfilment.
