Talisa Soto is an American actress who is well known as Princess Kitana in the fantasy action film Mortal Kombat released in 1995 and its sequel Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, which came in 1997.
She was born as Miriam Talisa Soto on the 27th day of March 1967 in Brooklyn, New York. She is the youngest of four children borne by her parents. When Talisa was still very young, her family moved from Puerto Rico to Northampton, Massachusetts, where she and her three older siblings were eventually raised and educated.

Soto who became well known as an actress first began her career as a model appearing in magazine issues such as Elle, the Mademoiselle, Vogue, Glamour. Her modelling career began at the age of 15 when she signed up with Click Model Management modelling only during summer holidays. A few weeks after signing on with Click, Talisa got a chance to travel to Paris where she was in a layout for Vogue. After the summer holidays, she returned to Northampton and continued with her school until she graduated from High school.
Talisa Soto later became a well-known model, appearing on the cover of reputable magazines like British Elle, American and British Vogue and other Self-magazines. She also appeared in ads for companies like Revlon, Calvin Klein, Versace, Salvatore Ferragamo, Cartier, Clarins and even for Saks Fifth Avenue. She landed her first movie role in 1988 playing India in a comedy Spike of Bensonhurst; which also starred Sasha Mitchell and Ernest Borgnine. In the same year, she played Lupe Lamora, in James Bond’s film Licence to Kill.
Talisa Soto has also starred in many other blockbuster movies like The Mambo Kings; Mortal Kombat; Piñero; Island of the Dead; Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever; and many more, in fact, she has over twenty movies to her credit. She has also made guest appearances on two television series C-16: FBI.
