Sofia Hublitz is an American actress who began acting in 2014 but made her television debut in 2013 as a contestant on the show MasterChef Junior. A reality show for Chefs isn’t a regular route to acting stardom but Sofia has made the best of her chances.
Sofia Hublitz was born in Richmond, Virginia on the 1st of June in 1999. During her maiden appearance on the MasterChef show, after a cooking mishap, she broke down in tears and Gordon Ramsay who was the then host of the show played knight in shining armor by running across not only to console her but to encourage her to start again but this time to follow the cooking procedure.
Although the show was considered to be a failure on a personal level, she was very popular amongst the viewers for three episodes. Her popularity within the show only acted as a springboard for her acting career. She revealed in an interview that she had to forgo her passion for cooking to pursue a professional career in acting.
In 2014, Sofia was given a role in just two episodes of the American television series called Louie as Danielle Hoffman. Her guest appearances in 2014 were followed up with another appearance two years later in 2016 in a single episode of the American television series Horace and Pete as Young Sylvia.
In a bid to reach the top echelons of the movie industry, Sofia signed up with the United Talent Agency in (UTA) in 2016. Prior to her deal with UTA, She was signed up to 3 Arts Entertainment. With such an established platform, we could see Sofia getting more roles in the future.
Sofia’s big break came in 2017 when she landed her first major role as Charlotte Byrde in the American Television series Ozark, a crime thriller drama series. As Charlotte Byrde, she was the 15-year-old daughter of financial planner Marty Byrde – a role played by Jason Bateman. The role of her mother was played by Laura Linney.
The storyline of the series revolved around an American Family who finds themselves entangled in a huge Mexican drug cartel. In the thriller, Charlotte’s parents relocate from Missouri to Chicago to her angst. While her parents struggle to get away from their Chicago money laundering past, they soil their hands further by getting immersed in local Missouri gangs.
In a storyline with a lot of odd and criminal minds, Sofia Hublitz does an incredible job of portraying the life an innocent teen often oblivious to realities around her.
Other actors in the series include Julia Garner, and Skylar Garner, the latter a newcomer to TV productions.
Ozark was released by Netflix in July 2017 to impressive reviews. In 2018, Jason Bateman was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Series Drama for his performance in Ozark. The movie was also nominated for The Screen Actors Guild Awards, Writers Guild of America Awards as well as a Local Managers Guild Awards. On a personal level, Sofia has received plaudits for her impressive performances in Orzak and Louie.
