From high school sweethearts to a husband and wife, Shante has been in the picture of her husband’s career even before the world knew his name and has stuck with him ever since, operating behind the scene as his business consultant. Married for 27 years now, the couple has been through some rough patches but has managed to smooth things out and remain together. Their marriage has produced three children, and here, we take a deep dive into their lives and that of Mrs. Snoop Dogg.
Who Is Snoop Dogg’s Wife Shante Broadus?
Shante Monique Broadus is An American entrepreneur and businesswoman. She was born in California on October 30, 1971, to African American parents. Although the 52 year old is a popular figure, very little is known about her background and family. While nothing is known about her parents, some sources have claimed that she has two siblings, including Jermaine Fuller (brother) and Sharelle Fuller (sister).
Like her husband, she attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School. There is no record of her furthering her education beyond high school. However, it is very likely that she has acquired more education (formal or informal), considering the magnitude of responsibilities she shoulders in her husband’s career and business.
Shante Is Snoop Dogg’s Manager
While Shante’s life and career revolve around her husband’s, there is no doubt that she knows her onions in business, and helping him grow as big as he has is proof enough. From the onset of Snoop Dogg’s career, Shante has been there. Speaking to Maxine Wally of W Magazine over the phone in 2021, she said, “I was there with him when he started all this.”
She further explained that even before he came out as a musician, she and their friends were his fans, and they would always listen to his songs and give their opinions. Unknown to many, she served as Snoop’s manager in the early years of his career, and even after he became popular, she was still helping him with deals and offers.
In 2021, she finally became Snoop’s official manager. By that, she became the overseer of the entire portfolio of businesses and investments owned by Snoop Dogg, including his music, clothing line, touring, cannabis line, his spirits, TV, film, mobile apps, video game, and Leafs by Snoop.
Speaking of her new position in a press release cited by Forbes, the legendary rapper admitted that Shante guided his career behind the scenes from day one. According to him, she has always been his final gut check with all his decisions, and if not for her, he wouldn’t be where he is today. “I am grateful to have her as my official manager, helping to build the Snoop Dogg empire together.”
On her part, Shante also told W Magazine that her husband’s decision to have her in control of his business empire stems from the fact that he knows he can always trust her. So it was his way of letting the world know that he had his wife beside him, helping him. She went on to explain that Snoop wanted a strong female to be in charge. “And of course, that’s me. I’m the boss lady,” she added.
The Celebrity Wife is also an Entrepreneur and Owns Several Businesses of Her Own
To those who don’t know Shante, describing herself as a boss lady may sound like an exaggeration, but it’s not. She is the founder of Boss Lady Entertainment (BLE), a music management and film production company that has produced several films and TV projects, such as the 2012 documentary film about Snoop Dogg titled Reincarnated.
Boss Lady Entertainment is also in charge of the day-to-day operations of The Compound, a production, music recording, and event space located in Inglewood, Los Angeles, California. This is where the likes of Snoop Dogg, Cardi B, Nipsey Hussle, Wiz Khalifa, Kendrick Lamar, and Nelly have recorded some of their best songs.
Over the years, The Compound space has served as a venue for the yearly Cedars Sinai Sports Spectacular, the ADIDAS Rookie Symposium, among many other well-known events. The production facility also housed GGN and was the rehearsal location for Snoop Dogg Presents The Joker’s Wild.
In addition to her job as BLE CEO, Shante Broadus is also a producer. She has executive produced several films and on-screen works such as Reincarnated, which aired on E! as part of their family reality show, Snoop Dogg’s Fatherhood, where she served as an executive producer.
Additionally, the boss lady spearheaded the launch of a lifestyle brand known as Broadus Collection. The brand has released a line of candles and scarves she created alongside her whole family and plans to release other homewares, all of which will be sold on Snoop Dogg’s e-commerce site, The Snoopermarket. In September 2020, Shante Broadus also launched a line of spirits called Boss Lady Spirits.
What Is Shante Broadus’ Net Worth?
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Shante Broadus’s net worth is estimated at $5 million. Although that’s very little compared to Snoop Dogg’s net worth of $150 million, it’s good to know that she has no problem making her own money despite her husband’s celebrity and financial status.
A Look At Snoop Dogg’s Marital Relationship With Shante Broadus
Snoop Dog and his wife, Shante Broadus, met way back in high school as they attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School. This means they must have started dating sometime in the 1980s when Snoop has had nothing of the fame and wealth he enjoys today. During an interview with VladTV, the rapper talked about how he wooed his wife back then.
According to him, he had to call her on the phone and write love letters to her to win her over. And thankfully, it worked! After several years of dating, the lovers decided to make their relationship officially permanent through marriage. They, therefore, tied the knot on June 14, 1997. The wedding ceremony took place at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Marina Del Rey, California.
Snoop and Shante’s Attempted Divorce and How They Got Back Together
Despite standing the test of time, Snoop Dogg and Shante’s union has not been without its ups and downs. Their relationship hitches got so bad that at a point in 2004, Snoop Dogg filed for a divorce, citing irreconcilable differences, and chief among those differences was his admitted infidelity.
Carried away by the massive success of his music career, which resulted in fame, Snoop thought it wise to end his marriage with Shante. But fortunately for the couple, he changed his mind after some deep reflections of the worth of his family – his wife and kids. The rapper realized that his wife meant so much more to him upon coming to the full knowledge that they were meant for each other.
He, therefore, came pleading for a second chance. Reflecting on the incident in an interview with MTV, Snoop Dogg said he’ll never give divorcing Shante a try ever again in his lifetime. The rapper has worked hard since then to make up for his mistakes. Snoop organized a wedding vow renewal ceremony without Shante’s knowledge as part of making amends.
The very colorful and romantic occasion came off on January 12, 2008. The event, which took place on Charlie Wilson’s ranch in Los Angeles, saw 200 guests in attendance. The ceremony was aired on Snoop’s hit E! reality television show Snoop Dogg’s Fatherhood.
Since then, the couple has been going from strength to strength in their love life. In 2016, on the 19th anniversary of their wedding, Snoop blew fans’ minds across the world when he posted a lovely throwback picture of Shante and himself on their high school prom.

- Age: 30 Years Old
Cordé Calvin Broadus, whom Snoop Dogg nicknamed ‘Spank,’ is the eldest of his three children with Shante. He was born on August 21, 1994, about three years before his parents were wedded. Cordé, not long ago, caused his father to receive severe backlashes from social media users after he posted a photo of himself and his dad smoking weed together. On January 15, 2015, Cordé made his parents’ first-time grandparents after he welcomed a baby boy named Zion Broadus with his long-time girlfriend, Jessica Kyzer, who is a model and a freelance makeup artist.
Snoop Dogg announced the news of the child’s birth on Instagram alongside a video and different photos of other family members holding the newborn. Sadly, Cordé’s relationship with the mother of his first child fell apart in the years ahead. He is now with another lady named Soraya Love, a fashion stylist from Los Angeles.
Together, they have a daughter named Eleven Love, whose birth was announced on Instagram by Cordé on August 18, 2018. The couple’s second child, Kai, died in his father’s arms on September 25, 2019, just ten days after he was born. However, the duo has since wiped their tears, thanks to the arrival of their son named Skylar, who was born in February 2021.
Cordell Broadus
- Date of Birth: February 21, 1997
- Age: 27 Years Old
Shante’s second child and son with Snoop Dogg, Cordell Broadus, was born on February 21, 1997. Six-foot-three Cordell attended Diamond Bar High School near Los Angeles and was a phenomenal football player during his time there. His amazing talent was more evident when UCLA offered him a football scholarship. Although he accepted the offer initially, he later changed his mind after ending his football career in August 2015.
In a statement by then-UCLA head coach, Jim Mora, published on Bleacher Report, Cordell informed him that he was quitting football to pursue other passions in his life, particularly his love of film through a production company he founded, Film School Productions. Meanwhile, Cordell Broadus once disclosed in an interview that he only played football because he thought it would make his father love him.
According to him,
Having left football, Cordell began to pursue a career in filming, both as an actor and a director, in addition to pursuing a music career. He also delved into the fashion business as an entrepreneur and a model. Additionally, in December 2021, he was named the creative director of Doge Dash, a play-2-earn (P2E) gaming app established by Hollywood producer and director Paul Caslin.
Also a father, he welcomed his first child, a daughter named Cordoba Journey Broadus, with his girlfriend, Phia Barragan, in 2019. In October 2020, Phia took to her Instagram to reveal that they were expecting their second child by posting several pictures of her baby bump with the caption, “Your sister and I can’t wait to meet you little bean.” The baby girl named Chateau Broadus eventually arrived in March 2021. Her birth was announced on social media by proud grandma Shante.
Cori Broadus
- Date of Birth: June 22, 1999
- Age: 25 Years Old
The last of Shante and Snoop Dog’s children, fondly referred to as ‘Choc’ by her dad, was born in 1999. Being the youngest and only daughter among Shante and Snoop’s children, Cori is very close to her father. The rapper described her as the love of his life once while speaking with People magazine. The world got the chance to see Cori during her early years when she appeared with her family on their E! reality show, Snoop Dogg’s Fatherhood, in early 2000.
At the age of 6, Cori’s parents noticed a light spot on her face, and later on, she started losing her hair and losing weight very quickly. She was eventually diagnosed with Lupus, a chronic, autoimmune disease that can attack and damage any part of the body. She was immediately placed on medication. Being a fighter, she finally made a complete recovery.
However, unknown to many people, Shante and Snoop’s marriage was restored due to Cori’s battle with lupus. According to the rapper, even though he had filed for a divorce from his wife in 2004, their daughter’s ailment played a significant role in their decision to rebuild their failing marriage.
Shante added that she didn’t know what she would have done without Snoop if they had gone through the divorce. “It’s amazing how this all turned out. We were gonna get a divorce. But we wouldn’t have gotten through it (the lupus diagnosis) that way.”
Like Her Father, Cori Pursued a Music Career
Drawing inspiration from her father, got interested in music as a child. Initially, she received music lessons in school and at church choirs before her father stepped in, giving her the professional guidance that helped her decide to pursue music as a career. In this vein, she attended Ramón C. Cortines School of Visual and Performing Arts, where she graduated in 2017.
Before she graduated, Cori launched her music career in 2011 with her debut single titled “Do My Thang.” A few months after, she released ‘SMH,’ and in 2012, she dropped her third single titled ‘Daddy’s Girl,’ featuring her father. Also, in 2012, Cori and her mother provided vocals on Snoop’s reggae album, Reincarnated, as seen on a documentary film of the same name that accompanied the album.
The up-and-coming artist also featured on her father’s 2013 album “No Guns Allowed.” She has released other songs of her own such as ‘Outside,’ ‘Sittin’ In My Room,’ ‘Same,’ and ‘New Phone, Who Dis?’ and her songs are available on her YouTube channel named Cori B, Spotify, and Apple Music.
Cori Broadus Has Mental Issues and Once Attempted Suicide
In an Instagram post on May 15, 2021, Cori revealed that she once tried taking her own life. Addressing her followers in the caption, she wrote, “The last few weeks my mental has not been so great at one point I tried to end my life.” She went on to credit her followers and family with giving her a purpose to live and helping her realize that there was much more to life than material things and that one has to “keep pushing through the bullshit.”
The musician opened up about her mental health struggle two days later during the Instagram Live video session. Cori’s issues with her mental health were partly worsened by her struggles with her health and physical features. As she explained, she was the only one with a chocolate complexion among her brothers, and she was also overweight.
Her weight problem resulted from being on steroids while she was being treated for lupus as a child. “That automatically messed with my health… I’ve always been sad and depressed because of my health,” she added. Her depression eventually culminated in a suicide attempt.
In the Live video, she shared the heartbreaking details of the night she made an attempt, which landed her in the hospital. She also credited her aunt with saving her life, adding that the experience made her realize that God was on her side, and therefore, she wouldn’t let the devil win.
Meet Snoop Dogg’s Secret Son, Julian Corrie Broadus
- Date of Birth: June 18, 1998
- Age: 26 years old
Until 2007, the world believed that Snoop Dogg had only three children. But then, news broke that year that he fathered another child, Julian Corrie, with his former high school lover, Laurie Holmond. Julian was born on June 18, 1998, barely one year after tying the knot with Shante.
Although Julian was kept a secret for so long, Snoop Dogg knew all about him from day one, as Laurie revealed in an interview with Star magazine in 2007. He was actually with Laurie the day she gave birth to the boy and, from thence, took responsibility for his upkeep after ascertaining he was indeed the boy’s father through a paternity test.
Julian was, however, unaware of whom his father was until after his mom spilled the beans when he was 9. Julia attended Diamond Bar High School, and after his graduation, he got into the University of California to study for a degree in Biology. However, in a 2018 interview, he mentioned switching to a business-related degree.
At different points, while growing up, Julian had other career interests. At the age of 9, he wanted to become a basketball player and was very good at sports. Sadly, he allegedly sustained an injury on his hand that led him to switch his interest to music, proving the power of blood. But unlike his father, he was interested in pop and R&B.
He released his first song in 2018 but subsequently pulled it down to do some touch-ups. Currently, it appears the young man has taken another career path away from music. He is now into celebrity real estate and is being mentored by Tai Savet, star of the VH1 show Love & Listing.
Julian’s Relationship With Snoop Dogg
Although Snoop Dogg projects himself as a cool and caring father to his children, that is not the case with Julian. Even though he took responsibility when the now-26-year-old was born, the rapper was not present in his life for many years, according to his mother, Laurie.
In the interview with Star magazine, Julia, who was nine-year-old at the time, opened up about his place in Snoop’s life and on Father Hood. The youngster and his mother bemoaned the rapper’s lack of involvement in the life of Julian, who told the magazine that he was supposed to be with his father on his family reality TV show. According to him, he wanted to be on the show to get to know his family, but that never happened.
At the time of the interview, Snoop had not seen Julian since early 2003, as revealed by Laurie. In a bid to get him to become a part of their son’s life, she took the musician to court in June 2007 to establish paternity, and he was proven to have fathered Julian. “I asked him to start seeing Julian again. He sounded sincere, but he has yet to come by,” Laurie said at the time.
After the world, including Shante, got to know about the existence of the rapper’s secret son, it almost ended their marriage. However, they reached a middle ground on the issue, with Snoop agreeing that he would support his son but not have any contact with him. Consequently, Julian never experienced having a father throughout his childhood, which resulted in friction in their relationship.
The duo is trying to rebuild their relationship many years down the line, but only time will tell if they’ll ever bond as closely as Snoop Dogg and his other children.
