Upon medical examination, it was discovered that Pingping suffered from osteogenesis imperfecta, a condition that prevents the body and bones from growing normally.

His unusual height precluded him from being able to hold down a normal job, so he made his living from public and media appearances. Pingping had two older sisters of normal height, and they took really good care of him in conjunction with their parents. While in Rome for the filming of Lo show dei record, in March 2010, Pingping began experiencing terrible pains in his chest. He was rushed to a hospital where he died a few days later from a heart complication, aged 21.

At the time of his birth, Khagendra weighed only 600 grams, and today his body weight is around 6.5 kilograms.

His short height is a result of a genetic condition, so he is a primordial dwarf, meaning he has always had a small size even before he was born. Thanks to his condition, he’s fated to be perpetually behind his mates in weight and height. Khagendra suffers from learning difficulties because his condition has left him with not just the body, but also the mind of a three-year-old. Chandra was bestowed with the title of the shortest human ever recorded and confirmed after he went through the standard measuring tests of the Guinness World Records in February 2012.

Although he was a primordial dwarf, it wasn’t ascertained what medical condition stunted his growth. Chandra spent most of his life living in his small remote village, Reemkholi. So he wasn’t discovered by other parts of the world until he was 72. He passed away three years later, on September 3, at a hospital in American Samoa. The cause of Chandra’s death was not disclosed, though some reports claim it might have been related to ill health.

He toured the world as part of circuses and slideshows, displaying his unbelievable stature to everyone who cared to see. Francis was often referred to as General Mite. He married a fellow dwarf, Millie Edwards of England, and their wedding ceremony was attended by thousands.
