Among the many questions asked about the cricketer, the questions of whether he is married and who his wife is are definitely at the top. Shikhar Dhawan is not just married, but he shares a love story with his wife, Ayesha Mukherjee, that is very interesting.

Ayesha Mukherjee was born on August 27, 1975, in India by an Indian father and a mother of British descent, but she was brought up in Australia. She trained as a kickboxer and a fitness trainer.

Even as there is the issue of a very large age difference between Ayesha and Shikhar,  what makes their love story even more interesting is the fact that before meeting the cricketer, she was once married. Her first husband was an Australian businessman with whom she had two daughters, Aliyah (born in the year 2000) and Rhea (born in the year 2005). Unfortunately, the union was not meant to be forever, and it finally ended in a divorce.

It was after her marriage ended that Ayesha was introduced to Shikhar Dhawan by a mutual friend, Harbhajan Singh after the cricket player first saw her on Facebook and got interested. Although they got engaged in 2009, some members of Dhawan’s family were not in support of the relationship not only because of the ten years gap between the two but also because she was a divorcee.
