Sharon Osbourne Age (Bio)
Sharon Rachel Levy was born on October 9, 1952, in Brixton, London to music promoter and rock and roll entrepreneur Don Arden and his wife Hope Arden. Her parents were Jewish and as such, she became a practicing Jew. She is of Russian-Irish ancestry and has one sibling, a brother named David.
Sharon did not have a very rosy childhood as her father Don was a very violent person and did not spare his daughter one bit in his many feats of anger. To make a bad situation even worse, her mother Hope put up a pretty indifferent attitude to her husband’s alcoholism and abuse of their daughter.
She began her sojourn in entertainment by working with her father in his business as the owner and manager of Black Sabbath. After her marriage to Ozzy Osbourne, she took over his management and has not left the industry ever since. She succeeded in making Ozzy a household name and this opened the doors for her own management company which she named the Sharon Osbourne Management. Her company manages a host of other artists successfully.
By 2002, Sharon Osbourne gained celebrity status and successfully negotiated a deal with MTV that saw her family gain their own reality show titled The Osbourne’s. The show was successful and further brought the family to worldwide popularity as well as higher living standards considering how much they raked in from the show. The show also saw her managing her daughter Kelly and guiding her to success as an artist in her own right.
Leveraging on the fame she got from the family show, Sharon attempted her own – The Sharon Osbourne Show which only aired for one season from 2003 – 2004. But having been into music from her childhood days, she was invited to be a judge on the X-Factor show from 2004 to 2007 in which year she also became a judge on America’s Got Talent.
To diversify and better prove her worth, Sharon Osbourne did not stop at managing talents and being a reality TV star, she topped it off by authoring her own books which did just as well. She wrote Sharon Osbourne Extreme: My Autobiography in 2006, Survivor in 2008 and Unbreakable in 2014. She has also been a show presenter.
From her teenage years until now, Sharon Osbourne has had something doing at every point in time and has never been one to sit idle. She did not just work, she also ensured that she managed her accounts well to avoid the poor conditions she grew up in where her father earned a lot of money but ended up squandering it all on drinks and leaving his family in poverty. This has certainly paid off handsomely as the excellent show host and reality TV star sits on a fortune of $220 million.
She had a Lap-band surgery in 1999 which saw her drastically lose over 100 pounds. And in 2002, just after The Osbournes began to air, Sharon was diagnosed with colon cancer which she was told had already affected her Lymph Nodes. She underwent another surgery and survived the disease even though she had initially been told that chances of survival were slim. Soon after her recovery in 2004, she started the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer program.
In the beauty department, there is no doubt that the reality Tv star is a beautiful woman given her height of 5 feet 2 inches and the excellent fashion sense with which she adorns herself. Despite all of these, she has admitted to using cosmetic surgeries to upgrade her looks and appearance.
