His role as Steve Stifler in the American Pie film franchise almost put Seann William Scott at a risk of typecasting because he was so good at it. Despite his other notable appearances in top movies, the popular film series which lasted from 1999 to 2012 remains his most recognized and takes credit for introducing him to wider audiences.
In a bid to avoid falling victim to typecasting and possibly limiting his career to a particular line of characters, Seann moved away from his fictional character – Stifler, to star in other movies like Final Destination, Road Trip and Dude, Where’s My Car? – all in the year 2000.
The American actor, comedian, and producer also played roles in Evolution (2001), The Rundown (2003), The Dukes of Hazzard (2005), Role Models (2008), and Cop Out (2010). He also lent his voice to the character of Crash, a possum in the Ice Age film series from 2006 to 2016.
Patricia Anne (née Simons) and her husband William Frank Scott, welcomed Sean William Scott on October 3, 1976, as their seventh and last child. His birth took place in Cottage Grove, Minnesota where his mother worked as a homemaker and his father, a factory worker. The Scotts have all of English, Irish, Scottish, and German ancestry.
There’s no record of his educational background which makes it difficult to say which institutions he attended. Working at a local movie theater, however, made him appreciate the arts and set him on the path of pursuing acting as a career. It wasn’t long after his debut as a professional actor before he recorded a massive commercial success with his role in the 1999 film franchise – American Pie. He further reprised the role in the three sequels that followed – American Pie 2 (2001), American Wedding (2003), and the last one American Reunion (2012). Although Seanne was paid a measly $8,000 for the first installment of the films, the role catapulted him to the limelight but almost took away his identity as a versatile entertainer. He then had to veer off to play other roles which he also pulled off remarkably well and somewhat redeemed himself from the stereotype that the American Pie films may have brought upon him.
In May 2018, Seann William Scott was revealed as the new cast member in Lethal Weapon. His character in the Fox series is named Wesley Cole, a replacement for Clayne Crawford’s Martin Riggs which makes him the new lead character.
The American Pie star is as handsome as he is gifted in the arts. Among the tallest in the industry, Seann William Scott stands at 1.8 m in height. The actor’s other body measurements are not accessible at the moment but a glimpse at his physical endowments shows he is in great shape – ripped body, chiseled abs and all. He looks like he spends a lot of time in the gym and it’s really working for him.
Is Seann William Scott Gay?
Gay rumors have hunted Scott for years with most of them based on the alleged fact that he exudes some intense gay vibes. He, however, aggravated the speculations when he said he can’t see himself dating any of the super hot actresses in Hollywood because, according to him, they are all nuts. He also quipped that even if he ends up with one, he loves his privacy and wouldn’t brag about it.
Notwithstanding, Scott has never confirmed the rumors personally and considering how easy it has become to come out as gay in the world now, there’s almost nothing stopping him from making his gay status known – that is, if he’s gay.
Wife, Girlfriend, Brother
Scott might be entwined in some gay rumors but he has also been linked to some female hotties in the past. The most publicized of his escapades was with Victoria’s Secret model Lindsay Frimodt. The two even got engaged in March 2012 but barely a year later, it was confirmed that there won’t be a wedding between them as the engagement was off. Scott and Frimodt remained friends afterward.
Scott’s family is a very big one with seven children and he is the last of them. Among his siblings is a brother named Daniel Scott who has a connection to the American digital media company known as The Onion.
