Scott Stewart Bakula is a singer, actor, and director, most recognizably known for his role in Quantum Leap as the time-traveling Dr. Sam Beckett, and not to leave out his character as Captain Jonathan Archer in Star Trek: Enterprise. Scott Bakula was born American. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, United States as the first of three children born of Sally and J. Stewart Bakula. His name Bakula is of Czech origin, which also links Scott to Czech ancestry. He is also of German, Austrian and Scottish ethnicity. Scott celebrates his birth on the 9th of October every year, he was born on October 9, 1954.

Scott’s interest in acting and singing began to build-up at the early stages of his life, he even created his own choral group in his local church. During the course of Scott’s growing up, he did not only sing and act, he also participated in sports activities. He was part of his high school swimming team, and also played soccer, baseball, and tennis. Scott is a fan of water-ski. We could only imagine what it would have been like watching Bakula swimming for the U.S. Olympics team.

Scott Bakula attended Kirkwood high school. After he graduated from high school, he went to Jefferson college, and then to the University of Kansas, majoring in business and law respectively. In order to concentrate on his career pursuit of becoming an actor, he dropped out of the University of Kansas.

In 1976, Scott moved to the land of opportunity, New York City. It was in New York that he was first offered a Job as a stage actor. He finally made his Broadway debut in 1983, starring in Marilyn: an American Fable Finest, where he was cast as Joe Di Maggio, Marilyn’s second husband.

Between 1989 and 1993, Scott Bakula played the role of a time traveller in Quantum Leap, the series, in turn, earned him huge recognition and fame, it earned him a Golden Globe Award, four nominations on the Emmy Award and five Viewers for Quality Television Award for best actor in a quality drama series. He grabbed the award five times in a row.

After his successful role play in Quantum Leap which earned him numerous accolades, he then produced his own TV series, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, a spy series which he also starred in. However, the series was short-lived and lasted between 1996-1997.

Bakula once again starred in another successful series, this time in Star Trek: Enterprise as Captain Jonathan Archer. The fictional series ran for four seasons between 2001 and 2005. He also featured in other successful series like Men of a Certain Age, NCIS, The New Adventure of Old Christine and lots more.

Scott Bakula has so far had an illustrious acting career, not bad for a law college dropout. He boasts of an estimated $10million net worth, a sum he has earned from his passion and dream career as an actor.

Scott Bakula is on the unending list of celebrities who have been in more than one marriage. Initially, Stewart married fellow star and actress Krista Neumann. The duo got married in 1981 when Scott was 27 years old. Their fourteen long marriage spawned two kids for the couple. Scott co-starred with Krista in the musical Nightclub Confidential. The couple brought there over a decade marriage to an end when they officially got separated with the aid of a court order in 1995.

Currently, Scott is married to another actress, Chelsea Field. Chelsea was born on May 27, 1957, in Glendale, California as Kimberly A. Botfield. The American actress has been active on the movie scene since 1985. She is best known for her character Teela in the 1987 movie Master of the Universe. Like her husband, Chelsea has also featured in a handful of films and TV series. The couple dated for over a decade and spawn two kids together before finally, they committed to holy matrimony in 2009.

Scott Bakula has four kids, two with his first wife, Chelsy and Cody, born in 1985 and 1991 respectively. And the other two with his present wife, Wil and Owen, born in 1995 and 1999 respectively.
