Sam’s childhood is all but a mystery to his family and people who knew him while growing up. He Rose To Fame Through His Appearance On Big Brother

Sam Pepper came to the attention of the public in 2010, the same year he created his YouTube channel. This was when he joined the British reality television series, Big Brother. He participated in the eleventh season of the show, entering the house on day 52 as a replacement for another house member. Sam would however soon be evicted from the Big Brother house with 14.6% of the public vote. He left the show on day 73.

Sam Began Uploading Videos On YouTube In 2010

Sam Pepper’s eviction from Big Brother turned out to be a blessing in disguise as he ended up focusing on his YouTube career, uploading videos that mainly consisted of pranks. His videos became very popular over the years as he got to collaborate with a number of other YouTube stars.

By 2013, the prankster had gotten so popular that he was able to head out on tour. He teamed up with YouTube personality and frequent collaborator Marius “Maz” Listhrop for a worldwide comedy tour tagged the WDGAF Tour. The tour started in late 2013 and lasted until mid-2014.

Sam Pepper’s YouTube career was flourishing until he began to receive frequent backlash over some of his actions. In 2017, after years of controversy and constantly battling different allegations, he stopped uploading content on the OFFICIALsampepper channel. At the time, he had amassed about 2.17 million subscribers and total views of 55.6 million.

Some Of The Controversies He Has Courted Over His Actions

Sexual Harassment Allegations

In 2014, Sam pepper uploaded another one of his prank videos. This particular video was titled Fake Hand Ass Pinch Prank and in it, he recorded himself as he pinched the bottoms of unsuspecting women. He would first walk up to them and pretend to ask for something before pinching their bottoms.

As you would expect, the YouTuber received backlash for the videos. To calm things down, he quickly uploaded another video titled The Reveal where a woman was filmed pinching the bottoms of men. Sam went on to say that the videos were “staged and scripted”. He added that they were sort of like a social experiment and that he chose to use sexual harassment as the focal point.

Unfortunately, despite his attempt to explain his actions, many women didn’t buy it and a few of them came forward to accuse him of sexual harassment. A few others went on to say that they were actually raped by Sam. One particular alleged victim reported that she was attacked during Pepper’s visit to Toronto on tour. The lady, who chose to remain anonymous, said they made contact over Twitter and he allegedly attacked her after giving her free tickets to his show.

In 2014, the LAPD confirmed that they had launched an investigation of Pepper over another woman’s claims but were unable to fully investigate the matter because the alleged victim was not cooperative.

An open letter was later written and signed by over 100,000 people who called for Sam Pepper to stop violating women and making them uncomfortable on the streets just to get views online. In response, Sam strongly denied all claims of rape and sexual assault. The YouTuber went on to then remove the two butt-pinching videos from his channel.

Issues with Ice Poseidon

In 2018, a year after Sam Pepper stopped uploading videos on his main channel, he began using a second channel – Sam Pepper Live. On it, he put out vlogs and frequently live-streamed with fellow internet personality and streamer Ice Poseidon. The duo became close friends after meeting at an influencer beer pong event in May of that year. Things were cordial and friendly between the pair until they fell out over what Ice described as manipulative behavior.

Ice accused Sam of always undermining his plans. Sam on the other hand said he talked to Ice’s girlfriend Kimberly, who told him something very personal about Ice, which angered the streamer. As a result of it all, the pair who used to always be together fell out. Sam Pepper was then banned from Ice Poseidon’s Reddit and was removed from the network. Sam said he was hurt by it all because he considered Poseidon “a friend.”

Crypto Scam Allegations

In 2021, a cryptocurrency called Save The Kids (KIDS) was launched. Sam, alongside other personalities like members of FaZe Clan – Kay, Jarvis, Nikan, and Teeqo, were brought in to promote it. Everybody involved with the crypto marketed it as a charity token whereby a percentage of the transaction fee would go to the Binance Charity Wallet. However, Sam and others involved owned 95% of the wallet supply. When the internet found out about it, the whole wallet was burned, and the coin plummeted in value. This left most people who invested in it with a massive loss. Sam later posted an apology about this and is no longer promoting the project.

Sam Pepper Rebradned On TikTok

After Sam Pepper began to receive backlash for his actions and the kind of videos he was putting out, he stopped uploading videos to his main YouTube channel and switched to another one. By 2019, however, he stopped uploading videos to YouTube entirely. He took some time to reevaluate things and rebrand before moving to TikTok where he mainly posts short comedy videos.

His first TikTok video was of him and his girlfriend trying to save some baby ducks. The video was so popular as it gained a whopping 1.9 million likes. Other videos that Sam, who rarely shows his face in his videos, has since posted on the platform consist of challenge videos, life–hacks, and stunts, generally trending videos.
