Sally Bretton is an English actress who is best known for her portrayal of Lucy Adams in the British situational comedy, Not Going Out. The series began in 2007 and is currently ongoing. She is also very popular for the role she played in the BBC1 series, Death in Paradise. She was part of the crime drama series from 2015-2017.

Asides her appearances on television, she is also known for some radio gigs as well as for her presence on stage. One of her stage performances earned her a nomination at the Manchester Evening News Theatre Awards for Best Actress (theatre) in 2002. Sally has had an eventful career as an actress; she has featured in movies like Peaches, Goodbye Charlie Bright, Happy Together, Open Wide, Blackbeard: Terror at Sea, If… We Eradicate Violent Crime, A Fitting Tribute, among several others.

Sally Bretton was born Sally Davis, however, the exact date of her birth is uncertain. While some sources claim she was born in April 1980, others say she was born either in 1975 or 1976. It is certain, however, that she was born in the British town of Hertfordshire to parents whom the actress has revealed nothing about. It also remains uncertain if she has any siblings. She took up the name Bretton because Davis was already registered under the Actors Union Equity.

The explicitly reserved actress has also remained mute about her educational background. It is however in public domain that she was trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama. Also, before her career as an actress took off, she taught at the Top Hat Stage and Screen School.

She also revealed that her husband is a photographer and that they share three children, all girls. She had taken breaks in her career to wean her kids.
