Ryan Palmer Dad, Wife, Net Worth, Relationship With Arnold Palmer

Ryan Palmer, a three-time PGA Tour winner has proved beyond doubts that golf is a sport where he has his niche carved despite an eight-year winless drought on tour.

The enthusiastic and passionate golfer has been able to overcome hurdles, putting in more effort beyond dedication and hard work to see that he excels in his chosen profession.

Early Days and Rise to Fame

Ryan was born and bred in Amarillo, Texas on September 19, 1976. He was in the 1995 class of Amarillo High School and played college golf at the University of North Texas for one year. To complete his university education, he transferred to Texas A&M University where he graduated from in 2000. The golfer turned professional after his graduation.

Ryan played on mini-tours during the early years of his professional career from 2000 to 2002. He played in Tightlies Tour and Hooters Tour. In 2003, he won the Clearwater Classic in the Nationwide Tour. Scaling the heights in his career rather fast, he finished 6th on the money list earning his 2004 PGA Tour card.

He is a three-time PGA Tour winner with his first win in 2004, the second and third came in 2008 and 2010 respectively. In his first win, he won with a three-stroke victory over Briny Baird and Vijay Singh.

The PGA Tour player was born to Butch and Gloria Palmer among four siblings, two sisters Courtney Palmer and Corrie Harris, and two brothers Todd Palmer and Trent Palmer. His father, Charles Franklin “Butch” Palmer was born on February 23, 1944, in Pampa and graduated from Amarillo High school.

He got enlisted into the United States Navy where he proudly served his country. He also worked as a bartender for 13 years and for IFCO Pallet Company for 30 years retiring in 2013.

Butch has been described by friends as a great gentleman and a devoted family man whose son, Ryan inherited most of his traits including a great love for sports. It is said that Butch introduced his son to golf because he (Butch) loved the game a great deal. However, playing golf as a career was not Butch’s idea to his son but he made sure to support him in every way and be in all his events prior to his death on August 18, 2015, in a car accident.

Another thing Ryan probably inherited from his father is his love for kids and the act of giving. His father was an active member of the Khiva Shrine where he served as Potentate in 2001. He so loved the kids in the Shriner’s hospitals and was greatly missed at the time of his death.

Ryan Palmer is married to a dentist, Jennifer Palmer (nee Fuller). Jennifer was born on Christmas day, December 25, 1976, in San Antonio, Texas. Her parents are Beverly and Jim Fuller.

She graduated from Amarillo High School so the couple may have met during high school or even in the University as she also attended the same University as her husband, Texas A&M University. She further went to the Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.

They became man and wife on June 29, 2002, with the ceremony taking place at the Paramount Terrace Christian Church. Ryan and Jennifer have two children, son Mason and daughter Madelyn.

Jennifer works at Ryan’s charity, The Ryan Palmer Foundation. The foundation provides golf clinics, golf programs and scholarships to local youths in need. She was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in July 2016 and underwent surgery six weeks later.

With the development, Ryan being a loving and supportive husband took time off while she underwent chemotherapy and radiation.

His Net Worth

The pro golfer has been enjoying quite a successful career and although there is no definite amount attached to his net worth, he ranks number 55 on the ESPN All-Time Money List Leaders with an earning of $22,459,450.

Ryan Palmer Relationship with Arnold Palmer

Arnold Palmer, an American former professional golfer was one of the “The Big Three” in golf during the 1960’s alongside Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player. The three earned the name courtesy of the great role they played in publicizing and commercializing the sport worldwide. He is generally regarded as one of the greatest and most charismatic players in the sport’s history.

Nicknamed the King of the sport, Arnold was the first superstar of golf sports television which set its sail in the 1950’s. The trailblazer was born on September 10, 1929, and died 87 years later on September 25, 2016. In the course of his career of more than 6 decades, he won 62 PGA Tour titles within 18 years from 1955 to 1973.

Records documented Arnold as the fifth guy on PGA Tour’s all-time victory list. If you dig into his accomplishments, you’d find that his pro golf career was not without major recognition and accolades. The man earned seven major titles from 1958 to the 1964 Masters where he dominated for six-plus-years.

Winning the PGA Tour Lifetime Achievement Award in 1998 and being inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1974 as one of the original inductees are among his many achievements in the golf world.

All these résumés would leave one thinking that the current golfer on his way to stardom is the progeny of the golf legend, this is not so. The only relationship that possibly exists between them is the sports and the golf course where they made us aware of their talents.

Also, they both have a passion for humanitarian work and each has a charitable foundation to his name; Arnold created the Arnie’s Army Charitable Foundation to help children and youth which saw the creation of several other foundations, and Ryan as mentioned earlier, founded the Ryan Palmer Foundation.

In addition, on the family front, the two has two children each and wives who are equally interested and committed to charity. However, Arnold’s grandson, Sam Saunders is also a professional golfer.
