Robert Vaughn was born on November 22, 1932, in New York City. Both his parents were performers. His father, Gerald Walter Vaughn was a radio actor and his mother, Marcella Frances was a stage actress. He has no known siblings and spent his childhood in Minneapolis, Minnesota living with his grandparents.
His first movie appearance came in a minor role in the Epic Biblical movie The Ten Commandments. As a celebrated actor, one of his most famous appearances was in The young Philadelphians, shot in 1959. It gained him a nomination for both the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor and the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor – Motion Picture. In an illustrious career, he appeared in over 200 movies, picking up numerous awards and many more nominations including a 1978 Emmy award.

In his youth, Robert Vaughn was charming and glamorous. He was the superstar who had a thing for parties, hosting some that involved great names such as Steve McQueen and Jake Nicholson. It was at one of such parties that he met Kathy Ceaton, a beautiful lady who was thirteen years his junior. The age difference did not prevent them from having a passionate affair that lasted for three years sharing houses in Surrey and in Hollywood. The relationship didn’t end well as Kathy got pregnant and before the child was born and paternity ascertained, Robert was said to be having an affair with his soon to be wife, Linda Staab. In 1974, Robert Vaughn tied the knot with Linda Staab who was a model and actress. They remained married till he died.
There was a bit of an uproar when Mathew Vaughn was born, as his mother Kathy Ceaton claimed he was the son of Robert Vaughn. The iconic actor on his part, categorically denied such claims citing that back in the 1970’s, a court of law had ruled in his favor as not being the biological father of Matthew. He also said that going through the records, there would be DNA results to further establish his point. Upon being asked about it a few years back, Robert said he had not seen the boy since he was a child and that they had not had any contact since then as well.
Matthew etched out a name for himself in the film industry with works of his own along with his friend Guy Ritchie who he met in 1995. Robert has kids that he acknowledges as his own although they were adopted. A boy named Cassidy and a girl named Caitlin.

With a career that spanned nearly six decades, it is rather safe to assume that Robert Vaughn would have been able to amass a small fortune for himself and he sure did. He had a net worth that stands at a staggering $10 million. That is no small feat at all.
As the saying goes, Death is a debt every man must pay. Robert Vaughn was no exception what so ever as he succumbed to the clutches of death on November 11, 2016, after a battle with acute leukaemia. Vaughn’s manager addressing the media said tMr Vaughn passed away with his family around him.
As of the time of his death, Robert Vaughn was just 11 days short of his 84th birthday. He passed away at his home in Ridgefield, Connecticut. During the period after the news of his passing was announced, tributes flowed in from around the globe as thus befitting an icon.
