Biography (Age, Parents)
A native of Yardley, Pennsylvania, Robert Costa was born on October 14, 1985, in Richmond, Virginia, the United States to parents Thomas E. and Anne-Dillon D. Costa. He attended Pennsbury High School where he was recognized for his social skills and flair for journalism. Notably, Costa will be remembered during his high school days for his ability to bring top musicians like Maroon 5, John Mayer, and Eve 6 to perform at the school events.
His journalism days also began way back in high school where, as a reporter for “The Bucks County Courier Times,” he mostly interviewed musicians, bands and reviewed concerts in the Philadelphia area, earning as much as $50 per article. He also covered professional and local sports for the student television station, PHS-TV.
He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies from 2004-2008 and remains a member of the board of trustees as well as on the advisory committee of the John W. Gallivan Program in Journalism, Ethics, and Democracy. He proceeded to the University of Cambridge where he earned a Master of Politics in 2009. While studying there, he was also an active member of the Cambridge Union debating society.
He did internships at PBS’s Charlie Rose, ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos and in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom. While he still pulled the crowd in college, he hosted and produced an interview program for NDTV called Office Hours.
After graduation, Costa became a Robert L. Bartley Fellow at The Wall Street Journal and in 2010, he worked as a reporter at National Review, an American semi-monthly magazine focusing on political, social, and cultural affairs. In 2012, he was promoted to a higher position as the magazine’s Washington editor. While there, he was also a contributor for CNBC and MSNBC. In January 2014, he left National Review and officially joined The Washington Post and by December the next year, he became a political analyst for both NBC and MSNBC.
Apparently appreciated for his hard work in reporting on the Republican Party in Congress during the United States federal government shutdown in 2013, Robert Costa was named the “most important reporter in the country.” More so, New York magazine nicknamed him the golden boy of the government shutdown.
Costa covers presidential politics and Congress and has often been described as “Trump Whisperer” because of the various extensive interviews he’s had with Donald Trump. His recent work has focused on the power struggles within the Republican Party and on President Donald Trump’s political career so far.
Costa’s coverage of presidential campaigns drew him widespread acclaim and more recently, he was named the moderator for Washington Week on PBS, making him the eighth moderator in Washington Week’s 50-year history. Before this latest appointment, he has appeared as a panelist and a frequent guest moderator on Washington Week since 2014.
Personal Life – Is Robert Costa Married With Wife and Kids?
Costa seems to live a very private life and has so far kept his personal affair under the radar despite having an active social media life. Though there are reports that he is married with kids, we have no evidence to confirm that information as there are no records of his past relationships nor his dating life.
Costa portrays the life of one who is more focused on his profession than having a girlfriend or an affair and so his personal life remains a mystery to the media.
Moreover, the exact values of his salary and net worth are unknown. But for a successful journalist at the peak of his career, we know he is well paid and most likely has a net worth in millions of dollars. He lives in Washington, D.C.
More recently, Costa shed some weight which is quite visible on his face. Going from a recent interview, it is speculated that he achieved this feat by dieting rather than exercising. Though his new look may not be termed a killer physique, Costa now has a more attractive physical appearance than ever.
