The rider’s unique style which gives him the advantage over his rivals in both power challenge and speed has drawn the attention of both fans and critics. Hard work, dedication, and innate natural ability have put Peter Sagan on the right track and he is likely to be a dominating figure in the world of cycling for many years to come.

Peter Sagan is the youngest member of the Sagan family but in spite of that, sources have it that his parents Helen and Ľubomír Sagan did not have much time for the young Peter as they invested a bigger part of their time taking care of their small grocery shop which they opened in town. Consequently, Peter was nurtured by his elder sister, Danka who later collaborated with him to open a hair salon in town where he still cuts his hair till date.

The Slovak national also has an older brother named Jurai Sagan who is a notable professional cyclist and is also a part of Bora–Hansgrohe team. Peter is said to have gotten the inspiration to embark on his cycling career from his older brother when he was barely nine years old and in 2007, Peter clinched the Slovak Cup competition, riding a bicycle which he borrowed from his big sister, Danka.

The next year which was 2008, the rising star emerged the winner in the Junior World Championship’ for mountain bikes and later that same year, he was beaten to the first position in the Junior Paris-Roubaix’ and the Cyclocross Junior World Championships.
