The multi-talented actress was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 16, 1969. She moved to Washington DC in 1987 to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Arts at the famous Howard University.

After graduating from Howard University, she moved to New York so she could perform in comedy clubs. Between 1992 and 1993 Paula performed at the famous Fox comedy titled the Apollo comedy hour, she also filmed live at the Apollo Theater and afterward was a cast member on the now extinct live show Townsend Television.
She made her first Career debut in the movie Cosmic Shop where she played a role as Tang and afterward won herself the Cable ACE award for best actress in a drama in 1994.
