Paloma Faith Bio (Age)
Paloma Faith was born as Paloma Faith Blomfield on the 21st of July, 1981, to an English mother and a Spanish father in Hackney, London.
Her parents divorced when she was four years old and due to this, she was raised by just her mother who moved to Stoke Newington, London. As a child growing up, Faith grew an interest in dancing and was encouraged by her mother to take weekly ballet classes.
After finishing her A-Levels at City and Islington College, Faith took her love for dancing to a whole new level as she studied for a BA in Contemporary Dance at Leeds University. While pursuing her degree, Faith worked as a hip-hop dancer at a few nightclubs, to hone her craft.
Upon completion of her BA, she moved to get an MA in theatre directing and drama at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. During this time, Faith did not just have to work to hone her craft but to also fund her studies. She worked different part-time jobs including as a magician’s assistant, bartender and sales assistant at Agent Provocateur.
One time when she was working as a bartender in a pub, she was approached by the manager to be the lead singer for his band. The band was called “Paloma and the Penetrators”. She was very good at mimicking famous soul and jazz singers such as Etta James and Billie Holiday who she cites as her influences.
It was during one of her many performances with the band that she started meeting various music industry executives and managers which led to her big break. She had, in the meantime, turned down the opportunity to join Amy Winehouse’s band.
Jamie Binns and Christian Wahlberg of Lateral Management watched her perform one time and immediately became hooked. They went on to become her managers in 2007, helping her land a duet with singer Josh Weller called ‘It’s Christmas (And I Hate You)’. This earned her enough recognition to release her debut solo single, Stone Cold Sober which went to number 17 on the UK singles chart. Her second single, New York, reached number 15 on the same chart.
Faith had before her music debut, kicked off her acting career by landing a role in the 2007 movie: St. Trinian’s. She had also appeared in an episode of the BBC police drama HolbyBlue and was cast in the movie The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus in 2009.
She has been nominated for a BRIT Award on two separate occasions. Once for “best female solo artist” in 2012 and then again for “best female artist” and “best British album” in 2013.
Paloma Faith has an estimated net worth of $3 million. She amassed her fortune through her songs and albums sales which have each all been certified double platinum in the United Kingdom.
Furthermore, She has had successful tours and has appeared in major roles in a handful of movies which has paid her handsomely. Her salary for being a judge on The Voice UK was also calculated.
Paloma Faith’s Husband, Boyfriend, Partner, Baby
Faith married New Zealand chef Rian Haynes in 2005. The marriage did not last long as the couple separated after eight months before signing divorce papers, four years later.
She is currently dating French-born artist Leyman Lahcine. Unconfirmed reports say that the couple exchanged vows in a private ceremony in the summer of 2017 and want to keep their marital status a secret.
The rumoured married couple, however, have a baby together and have confirmed it to the public. On 22 August 2016, Faith took to social media to announce that she was expecting her first child. She gave birth to her baby on 5 December 2016 through an emergency cesarean.
The baby’s gender is unknown and Faith has gone ahead to reveal that she refers to her baby as “they” and intends to raise the child in a gender-neutral environment.
