Olwen Kelly is the Oldest of Her Parent’s Five Children

Olwen Catherine Kelly was born to Irish parents Peter Kirwan and Maureen Kelly on 30th March 1987 in Eire, Dublin. Her father was a successful insurance broker while her mother was a classically trained professional singer who was active mainly during the eighties and early nineties. Maureen gave birth to Catherine and her four other siblings and they were all raised together in Celbridge, Eire.

Of all her parent’s five children, Catherine is the oldest, and her siblings Laurence Williams, Donal Spring, and Hannah Kelly all grew up to gain modest levels of success themselves. Olwen has a very close-knit relationship with her siblings, especially with her immediate younger brother Laurence, probably because they are very close in age. Her youngest sister Hannah Kelly is a thriving hairstylist. All of them remained in Eire where they began to raise families of their own.

Kelly is a Model Signed to the Dublin Model Agency

Olwen Kelly had always had a passion for the acting craft. She spent a great deal of time fantasizing about being an actress, but when it was time to make a decision about studying acting, she developed cold feet and studied science at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth. Of course, her degree was not helpful to her preferred career, and she had to jettison it in order to gain entry into the industry.

Upon her graduation, Kelly left Dublin and moved to London in order to pursue a career in acting. This happened around 2012 and her sole selling point was her stunning physique. Kelly got to London and realized that the movie industry was a very tough one, and only the most patient survived. She decided to wait patiently for her one big break; in the meantime, she worked as a shop attendant in a retail store and took up modeling as a backup plan.

Her entry into the modeling world paid off, as she was signed to the Dublin Model Agency in no time and was called to model for some of the UK’s top brands, including Next, Maxx, and TK. Kelly also featured in countless advertisements, video campaigns, and a few magazine covers.

Going Back to Her Original Passion – Acting

At this point, she had decided to focus on modeling as it seemed to be paying off better and easier. However, it wasn’t easy to forget her first love, and a few years later she decided to try out acting again. This time, luck smiled on her as she made her very first appearance in the 2014 Irish movie, Darkness on the Edge of Town where she played the role of a murder victim being avenged by her sister (Emma Eliza Regan).

The movie wasn’t quite the breakout movie Kelly had hoped for and so she tried again in 2016 with the series, Why Life Sucks When You’re in Your 20’s. She appeared in the first episode of the drama-comedy series titled It’s Contagious. Later that year, Olwen finally hit the jackpot for her role as Jane Doe, the corpse in the 2016 horror flick, The Autopsy of Jane Doe. It was this movie that gave her her first taste of fame, and she was critically acclaimed for being able to stay completely still during the tedious filming hours.

Olwen credited her ability to achieve this feat to her knowledge of yoga and meditation. Now an internationally recognized actress, Olwen Kelly moved on to less scary movies like Winter Ridge (2018) and The Obscure Life of the Grand Duke of Corsica (2021). Although the amazing actress might not be as expensive to cast as Angelina Jolie, she has done enough work to mark her as one of the UK’s finest talents in recent years.

Sometime in 2017, she was said to have been in a romantic relationship with someone named Sonny Paris. Apparently, they had met in a bar and immediately hit it off. The father of her daughter, who is the man she is currently in a relationship with, is named Sam Brown. Olwen Kelly met him sometime in 2019 and both of them have been in a low-key romantic relationship since then.
