Olga Kurylenko’s Biography (Age)

Olga Kurylenko was born on the 14th of November 1979 in Berdiansk, in the then Soviet Republic of Ukraine. She was born to a Ukrainian father and Russian mother. Her mother Marina Alyabysheva is an accomplished artist with several exhibitions and she teaches arts as well. Kurylenko was not one of those lucky children who enjoy a peaceful home with two loving parents as her parents were divorced by the time she was three years old. She remained with her mother after the divorce. Her mother did not remarry and so, she bore the responsibility of raising the young Kurylenko on her own until the time came for Kurylenko to leave home for Paris to pursue a modeling career. She hardly saw her father after the divorce. In fact, she was already eight years old before she set eyes of him again. However, this was not to be a reunion or the beginning of a new start for father and daughter as they never saw each other until five years later.

Around the time she turned 13, Kurylenko traveled with her mother to Moscow for vacation, during their time there, she came in contact with a modeling scout who promptly recruited her. By the time she was 15 years old, she relocated to Moscow and a year later, she was off to Paris where she went into a deal with the modeling agency, Madison. This marked the beginning of what would turn out to be a highly successful modeling career for the young Kurylenko and gave her the ability to provide financial assistance to her mother who remained in Ukraine.

Olga Kurylenko began snapping up modeling jobs for several brands soon after her deal with Madison and just over a year later, she was featured on the covers of prestigious fashion magazines like Elle and Vogue. Through the course of her career as a model, she has had the privilege of representing such brands as Kenzo, Helena Rubenstein, Bebe, Victoria’s Secrets, and Clarins, to name a few and appeared on the covers of magazines like Marie Claire, Maxim, and Madame Figaro multiple times.

Kurylenko made her debut in the world of acting in 2005 when she appeared in the French film, L’Annulaire – produced by Diane Bertrand. Even though this was her first outing as an actress, critics and audiences were thoroughly impressed by her performance that earned her a certificate of excellence during the Brooklyn International Film Festival of 2006. In 2006, she appeared alongside Elijah Wood in Quartier de la Madeleine, which was a part of the Paris, Je taime ensemble of short films.

As 2007 rolled in, it became clear that Olga Kurylenko was poised to make as much of a mark in the world of movies as she had done in the modeling and fashion world within a few short years as she displayed one of her notable acting performances in the 2007 film Hitman. The film also starred Timothy Olyphant and after that, she played the role of Natasha in Max Payne, alongside such notable movie stars as Mark Wahlberg, Ludacris, and Mila Kunis.

In 2008, she appeared in the James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace, portraying the role Camille Montes, a secret agent who joined forces with Mr. Bond to take revenge on the people that perpetrated the murder of her parents. In 2010, she appeared in To the Wonder, alongside Ben Affleck, Javier Bardem, and Rachel McAdams. That same year, she appeared in the science fiction movie, Oblivion, alongside Tom Cruise, as well as November Man where she portrayed the role of Alice Fournier.

In 2014, she appeared in Vampire Academy and The Water Diviner. In addition to her movie appearances, she has also appeared in a few music videos, including the video for Seal’s song Love’s Divine.
