Although she was not a fan of Trump, Nikki said she would vote for him during the 2016 elections. In November 2016, President Trump disclosed his intention to nominate Haley for the post of US Ambassador to the United Nations. He further sent Haley’s nomination to the US Senate in January 2017 and she was confirmed on January 24, 2017.
