Ndamukong Suh is a professional American football player and Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle who plays in the National Football League (NFL). Drafted by the Detroit Lions as the second overall selection in the NFL draft of 2010, Suh is a five-time Pro Bowler and has been named to the All-Pro First-team thrice. The powerful defensive tackle was born Ndamukong Ngwa Suh in Portland, Oregon on January 6, 1987. He was born to African-American parents, Bernadette Suh and her husband Michael Suh. He possesses an American nationality and belongs to Afro-American ethnic descent. Suh grew up in Portland, Oregon where he attended Grant High School. His career journey started right from high school where he featured in different sports including basketball, football, and track events.
During his high school football career, Suh was a two-way lineman for the school football team. As a junior, he earned an All-state pick honorable mention as well as All-Pil First-team honors. In his senior year, he won the Interscholastic League Defensive Player of the Year Award while he was also named to the All-State Class 4A First-team and High School All-American team by Parade Magazine.
