She went to the University of Southern Mississippi where she earned a degree in Radio, Television, and Film. Following the advice she received from one of her professors in freshman year, she went on to the University of Memphis, where she secured a Masters degree in Political Science.
Natalie Allen worked as an intern at KSFM-TV in Arkansas, before moving back to her hometown to kick-start her career as an anchor and correspondent for WREG-TV. She was the first newsroom intern at the organisation to get promoted to general assignment reporter while still in college.
