The Canadian beauty, fashion model, and actress, Missy Peregrym has had an amazing journey in Hollywood. She began acting in her late teens and had her major screen breakthrough in 2006 with the movie Stick It where she played the lead role as Helen Graham.

Prior to her acting days, she was involved in promoting products and services for companies through commercials. The job saw her advertise for the popular automobile brand Mercedes Benz. Award-winning actress Missy Peregym was born in the populous city of Montreal, Quebec in Canada on June 16, 1982, but spent most of her growing-up days in British Columbia. She was born to a cleric father Rev. Darrell and a housewife Vanessa Peregrym and she grew up with two sisters, whose identities are unknown. She has said during interviews that she would describe herself as a tomboy while growing up, this would make anyone would wonder why that was the case since she never had male siblings.

Peregrym attended the Fleetwood Park Secondary School for her high school education and later went to Aurora College where she graduated from in 2004. As a youth, she had a keen interest in sports and loved watching and participating in basketball and soccer games in addition to snowboarding which she also a huge fan and player of.

Career

By 2000, the self-acclaimed tomboy picked fashion as a profession. She began working with the LizBell agency which encouraged her to get involved with commercials. She obliged and became successful in that facet. She advertised for Olympics and Sprint Canada. In the same year, she began her acting career and was featured in the television series Dark Angel. This was not her biggest success but she was definitely getting there.

In the same year 2000, Missy Peregrym starred in the series Life As We Know It as Jackie Bradford. She was also on the popular television sitcom Heroes. With minor roles in all her television series roles, she upped her game and landed her first television role in CW’s Reapers.

In the years that followed, she made her first movie debut and appeared in several movies as a guest star. Her guest acts include Andromeda, Tru Calling, Smallville, Jake 2.0, Black Sash among others. She grabbed her first lead role in the 2006 sports drama Stick It where She played Helen Graham, a young lady who had a lot of athletic talent but was ruining her life through negative social behaviors. The movie was an instant hit and its returns exceeded its budget by $11.98 million.

Missy is also well known for her lead role in the Canadian sitcom Rookie Blue (2010) as Officer Andy McNally. She played this role for a very long time and was nominated for the Canadian Screen Award for her performance. Asides the movies and TV series mentioned above, she has starred in a handful of others and has had a few award nominations for her efforts too. The actress has won two awards throughout her acting career which include the Streamy Awards (2013) and the Golden Maple Awards (2016).

Beyond her efforts at making cool cash, Missy Peregrym is also a philanthropist. She enjoys giving to the less privileged and has been involved in different charitable activities such as donations of safe footwear to regions in South American in conjunction with TOMS – a California shoe based company. She has also visited communities in Argentina on philanthropic duties.

The gorgeous and lofty Canadian actress was first married to Zachary Levi Pugh on June 16, 2014, in the beautiful town of Maui in Hawaii. Zachary Levi is an American award-winning actor who is popular for his roles in several blockbuster movies, however, their marriage did not produce any offspring before it was annulled the following year, in 2015.

The Streamy Awards winner found love again in 2018 with Australian actor, Tom Oakley who is popular for his role in the 2010 movie The Distance Between. The couple tied the knot on November 16, 2018, in Los Angeles in the presence of friends and family members loved ones.
