Early Life and Rise to Fame
Michelle Ingrid Williams was born on September 9, 1980, in Kalispell, Montana to Carla Ingrid (née Swenson) and Larry R. Williams. Her father Larry Williams is a stock trader and a former Republican party politician. She has one younger sister Paige and three older half-siblings from her dad’s earlier marriage – Jason, Kelley, and Sara.
At the age of 9, Michelle’s family relocated to San Diego, California. She developed a keen interest in acting at a pretty young age and her supportive parents were always willing to drive her to movie auditions in Los Angeles.
In 1993, Michelle Williams made her television acting debut on an episode of the hit series Baywatch. The following year, she marked her feature film debut in the adventure family film Lassie. As a couple, Williams and Ledger lived together in New York and in October 2005, the couple welcomed a child together. Their relationship came to an end in September 2007, the couple parted ways amicably.
Michelle Williams has also been in a relationship with director and filmmaker Spike Jonze. She and Jonze met on the set of Synecdoche, New York, in which Michelle had a starring role and Jonze served as producer. The relationship lasted from July 2008 to September 2009.
The star has also been linked with other eligible men including fellow actor Jason Segel, however, her relationship with the How I Met Your Mother star ended in January 2013.
