She is no doubt one of the most popular and influential women in the United States of American and the world as a whole, there is also no doubt that you have read tons of articles highlighting the kind of person she is, her journey and the rest of that. So, today let’s shift the focus from the former First lady of the United States to Michelle Obama’s mother, her brother and, oddly enough, her teeth.
Michelle Obama’s Mother
Marian is popularly known as the ‘First Granny’ and some of you many not know this but she lived in the White house with the former First family all through their tenure. She was the first live-in grandmother there since Elivera M. Doud, the mother of Mamie Eisenhower, during the Eisenhower administration.
Her name is Marian Lois Robinson, but she was born Marian Shields on July 30, 1937, in Chicago. Hers was a big family as she was the fourth of seven children; five girls and two boys, born to Purnell Nathaniel Shields, a house painter, and his wife Rebecca Jumper, a licensed practical nurse.
She married Michelle’s father, Fraser Robinson on October 27, 1960, in Chicago, where they both had extended families. Unfortunately, he passed away on 6 March 1991. Besides the fact that she is Michelle Obama’s mother, Marian got popular when she became the live-in grandmother at the white house.
She lived on the third floor of the White house and though she works behind the scenes, her presence is vital to the wellbeing of the first family. She was recruited for the job of a parental surrogate to Malia, then 10, and Sasha, 7, while her parent saw to the needs of the nation as a whole.
Michelle Obama’s mother was an integral part of the first family, working from the shadows to ensure that the Obamas represented America to the best of their capacity.
Michelle Obama’s Brother
As most of you already know, she is not an only child, neither is she the first. The former FLOTUS has a brother and he is 22 months older than her. Michelle may have a pocketful of achievements to her name, but best believe that her big brother is no slacker either, both Robinson children are quite achieved in their fields.
He was born Craig Malcolm Robinson on April 21, 1962, in Deyoung, Illinois. He was quite the gifted child as he learned to read by the age of four, he even got to skip the 2nd grade and to top it all he graduated high school as the class valedictorian. He was a star forward as a player at Princeton University in the early 1980’s and a bond trader during the 1990’s.
These days he is the is the vice president of player and organizational development for the Milwaukee Bucks. In addition to that, he coaches and is a broadcaster. Craig is currently on marriage number two, by the year 2000 he was going through a divorce with his first wife, with whom he had two children; Avery and Leslie. By 2006, he was remarried and he proceeded to have two sons, Austin and Aaron, with his wife Kelly.
Michelle Obama’s Teeth
It’s a bit sad that this is actually an issue. Yes, the former First lady of the United States of America does not have the best teeth out there; according to some, she has an overbite and an underbite. A handful of people have been wondering why she never took advantage of the unlimited human and monetary resources she had and still has access to.
Well, here is the take of someone who has the same dental issues as the former First lady.
‘I have a very similar underbite as her actually. It is a mild class 3 bite (not severe/ life threatening!) and several orthodontists I have consulted have confirmed that wearing braces may help but will not fix the skeletal problem.’
‘Undergoing a maxilo-facial surgery will be the only method to reduce the protruding jaw. However, in the First Lady s case or my case, because the condition is so mild, surgery is not recommended/ worthwhile as it is associated with significant risks.’
‘And this may be considered by some as a cosmetic surgery rather than medical (this will give the public/ media a poor and misleading image). Sensory nerves can get damaged causing permanent loss of senses in the lower half of face…not to mention other complications can arise.’
So there we have it; this is all we could gather on the topic of Michelle Obama’s mother, her brother, and her teeth.
