Michael John Douglas, the youngest of seven children in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania was born on the 5th of September, 1951. He adopted the stage name ‘Michael Keaton’ when he started acting in order to satisfy the rules the Screen Actors Guild had in place to avoid confusion, as there was already an actor named Michael Douglas.
Michael is half Irish through his mother and was raised Catholic. He gave college a try for two years at Kent State University, where he appeared in plays but he eventually dropped out and returned to Pennsylvania.

Michael Keaton is a well-known actor, producer, and director. His ascent to fame started on the CBS sitcoms All’s Fair and The Mary Tyler Moore Hour. It’s pretty interesting that a man known for his dramatic chops started out in comedic roles. He took on more comedic roles in movies like Night Shift, Mr. Mom, and Johnny Dangerously. His status rose dramatically when he was cast in Tim Burton’s Batman. The man who improvised the famous catchphrase ‘I’m Batman’ would then go on to conquer Hollywood.
