Megan Thee Stallion Height, Age, and 10 Other Facts You Should Know About Her

Megan Thee Stallion is a 29-year-old American rapper who stands at 5 feet 8 inches (1.78 m).

The Year 2020 was a bag of mixed fortunes for Megan Thee Stallion. On the one hand, she was responsible for some of the hottest tracks of that year; WAP and Savage remix. These songs fetched her an avalanche of accolades, including two BET awards and three Grammy awards.

It also saw her end up on the Time Magazine list as one of the 100 most influential persons in the world, with popular actress Taraji P. Henson penning the accompanying note. It was indeed a remarkable year for the Houston native, but all that was nearly marred by an incident in which fellow rapper Tory Lanez allegedly shot her in the foot.

Lanez has since been charged, and Stallion refuses to be daunted. Despite all the fabrications from Lanez’s team, she continues to dish out electrifying performances to her fans, and this is thanks to a terrific work ethic that was instilled in her as a child.

Megan Thee Stallion is 29 Years Old

Megan Thee Stallion was born on the 15th of February 1995 in San Antonio, Texas. Her family would later move away from that area but they remained in the state. The rapper, therefore, grew up listening to southern male rappers such as Juicy J and Pimp C and they served as her early inspiration. She also developed a signature tone of rapping with a heavy southern accent.

Stallion has since moved away from Houston to pursue fame but she remains passionate about her origins and says she will always come back.

Her Real Name is Megan Jovon Ruth Pete

If you were thinking that Megan Thee Stallion can’t possibly be someone’s real name, then you are right in this particular case. The rapper was born Megan Jovon Ruth Pete but subsequently acquired the nickname Stallion as a result of her physique.

In the south, girls who are tall, voluptuous, and statuesque are referred to as Stallions. Megan coincidentally grew up to fit the bill and before long many of her peers were referring to her as a Stallion. The nickname stuck over the years and when she went into showbiz, she naturally adopted it.

Her Late Mom was Also a Rapper

Another of Stallion’s earliest musical influences, as well as the person who shaped her taste in music, was her mom, Holly Thomas. Thomas was a bill collector who also rapped under the moniker, Holly-Wood. She introduced her daughter to hip-hop at an early age and also encouraged her when she began to rap in earnest. Holly taught the young Stallion to rap in her own voice and once her career started to take off, was there for her every step of the way, as her manager, cameraman, and biggest cheerleader.

Thomas would later pass away from a brain tumor in 2019 and this devastated Stallion. She however quickly got back to music as she knew that it was what her mom would have wanted.

Megan Thee Stallion Began Writing Raps at The Age of 16

Having being introduced to hip-hop music at an early age, Stallion began penning her own lyrics by the time she was 16. These lyrics were quite provocative and her mom was shocked by them. She came around though and with her support, Stallion continued rapping into college. At college, Stallion took part in various freestyles and rap battles. She garnered a reputation and soon took to uploading her videos to social media. Her clips accumulated a decent following until the time when two videos of her demolishing male opponents in a freestyle battle were published. This went viral and aided her entrance into pro music.

Megan is 5 feet 10 Inches Tall

Stallion is 5 feet 10 inches tall which is quite impressive for a lady. To better understand this, statistics show that the average American woman is 5 feet 3.5 inches tall which means that Stallion is about 6.5 inches taller than most of her countrywomen. It also explains why she is taller than most of the ladies she has collaborated with. For instance, two of Stallion’s biggest collaborations in 2020 were with Beyoncé (5 feet 7 inches) and Cardi B (5 feet 5 inches) and she towered over them both.

She is Quite Charitable and Has Donated Tens of Thousands of Dollars to Help out the Needy

Perhaps as a result of the humble background that she hails from, Megan Thee Stallion remains committed to using her wealth to help the less privileged in society. The rapper once contributed $15,400 worth of thanksgiving turkeys to feed about 1,050 households in the Houston area in 2019. In 2020, she donated $8,000 to a GoFundMe effort to help cover the funeral costs of a fan who passed away. Also in 2020, Stallion donated $50,000 to assist members of the Asian-American community in Atlanta following a deadly shooting that targeted Asian-Americans in that city.

The Rapper is Studying Towards a College Degree

Given the stellar career that she has had, and a net worth that runs into millions of dollars, one would expect Megan Thee Stallion to forget all about academics but this is not so. The Houston-born rapper was studying for a college degree at Prairie View A & M University before her career took off and she is determined to bag that degree.

Presently enrolled at Texas Southern University, Stallion is working towards a degree in Health Care Administration and takes most of her classes online as a result of her hectic work schedule. She plans to utilize her degree and open assisted-living facilities for the elderly in her hometown someday.

Megan Thee Stallion is a Big Fan of Dogs

Stallion is a big fan of dogs and has about four; a pit bull named 5ive, two French dogs named 4oe and Dos, and a cane Corso named X. The rapper usually shows her beloved pets off on social media (one of them, 4oe, even has his own Instagram handle). Her merch line also has a dog collection. All that love for dogs has seen Megan land a new show in collaboration with Snapchat titled off Thee Leash. The show would feature her hanging out with “her boys” and other pals who are equally pet owners.

She is The First Female Hip-Hop Artist in 20 Years to Win the Grammy Award for Best New Artist

As stated earlier, Stallion’s fabulous outing in 2020 saw her win an avalanche of awards, including three Grammy awards. She received a total of four nominations for Savage remix heading into the 2021 edition of the Grammys. She went on to win three, namely best rap song, best rap performance, and best new artist.

In winning the gong for best new artist, Stallion became the first female hip-hop artist to do so since the mercurial Lauryn Hill achieved something similar back in the year 1999.

Megan Created and Starred in the October 2019 Series, Hottieween

What do you do when filmmakers are falling short of your expectations in your favorite genre? Well, if you are Megan Stallion, you simply produce something that meets your taste. The rapper is famously a fan of horror movies but for some time, everything she watched became underwhelming and predictable. She therefore resorted to creating and starring in the YouTube series, Hottieween. The series was a decent success as it recorded at least a million views per episode.
