Maren Larae Morris was born to parents, Greg Morris, and Kellie Morris, in Arlington, Texas, on the 10th of April 1990. She has only one sibling, a younger sister named, Karsen. Growing up, she spent most of her childhood in her mother’s salon but by the time she was twelve years old, her father, Greg, bought her a guitar and that was when her musical journey literally began. On the 14th of June 2005, Maren Morris recorded her first studio album which she titled, Walk On and it was released under Mozzi Blozzi Music.

In addition, this EP of hers was successful enough to attract the attention of a few major record labels and by September 2015, she ended up signing a record deal with Columbia Nashville.
The five-song Ep were re-released via Columbia Nashville records on the 6th of November 2015 with the song My Church used as the promotional single. Through strategic marketing, and adequate airplay on country radio, the Ep was able to sell over 2,400 records, appeared on two Billboard charts, including; Country Albums chart and Top Heatseekers chart, peaking number 27 and 1 respectively. More so, My Church charted on the Hot Country songs chart subsequently leading the RIAA to certify it Gold. The following year, Morris released the Album Hero on the 3rd of June 2016 under Columbia Nashville and the album did well to peak at the number one spot on the Top Country Album chart and number five spot on the Billboard 200 chart.
The success streak of the song My Church also earned Maren Morris, a total of four nominations at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards, winning one plaque for herself in the Best Country Solo Performance category. In 2017, she collaborated with Thomas Rhett on the song Craving You and later featured with Zedd and Grey on the hit song The Middle which was released in January 2018. The Middle performed well to be featured on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at the No. 5 spot.
