Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton is a Formula One (F1) racing driver, born on January 7, 1985, in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, England. He picked interest in motor racing at the young age of six when his father, Anthony Hamilton bought him a radio-controlled car. His passion for the sport grew from there resulting in his making his racing debut in the F1 in 2007 where he finished in the second position, just one point behind the champion, Kimi Räikkönen (Ferarri). The following season in 2008, at age 23, Lewis Hamilton won his first world championship title, becoming the youngest motor racing champion in the history of the competition.
He has since gone on to win three additional world titles – in 2014, 2015 and 2017. He won his latest three championships with his current team Mercedes Benz whom he joined for the 2013 racing season till present but his first championship in 2008 was won with McLaren.
It is said that when Hamilton was just ten years old, he attended the 1995 Autosport Awards ceremony with his father and he walked up to Ron Dennis, who was the then McLaren team manager and told him that he (Hamilton) will race for the McLaren team someday. He was later signed up to join McLaren’s Young Driver Support Program in 1998 and after showing so much promise while in the program, he was promoted to the F1 and was made an official McLaren motor racing driver in 2007, just as he had told Ron Dennis, twelve years before. That 2007 season also marked his debut season in F1. Today, the rest is history!
