Krystal Jung was born Chrystal Soo Jung on the 24th day of October 1994, in San Francisco, California, United States, where her parents settled from South Korea in the 1980s. She is an American belonging to South Korean ancestry. Krystal, as she is popularly known, was raised together with her sister called Jessica Jung. She attended Korea Kent Foreign School and later enrolled at Hanlim Performing Arts High School, from where she graduated on February 7, 2013, and later bagged an achievement award.
