Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are probably the most intriguing couple in the entertainment industry. Before the two got married, they both had rather interesting love stories that made many believe they would not last for as long as they have.

The power couple of Hollywood has come a long way since their first meeting amidst news of pending divorces and rifts tearing through their union. What is even more interesting is that even when either does things and gets crucified in the court of public opinion, the other always stands by the side to defend.

How Kim Kardashian And Kanye West Met

The first time that the Hollywood famous couple met was in the early 2000s. At the time, Kanye was still finding his way up the ladder of the music industry. They met when Kanye was making a song with Brandy who was Kim’s friend. They would later hang out with before doing the music video together. Kanye did not know her name and so was asking his friends who Kim Kardashian was.

Beyond the music project and hanging out together, there was nothing more between the two as Kanye was still dating Alexis Phifer, and Kim was already married to her first husband, Damon Thomas. Nonetheless, there are some reports that claim Kim had already fallen for the rapper since the earliest time they met.

The marriage of Kim to Damon would end in 2004 and she would proceed to be in other relationships before later marrying Kris Humphries in 2011 and filing for a divorce after only 72 days of marriage. Kanye would also be in other relationships before they would finally come together in the early 2010s.

While finalizing her divorce from her Humphries, Kim started a relationship with Kanye who according to her had already become her friend and was trying to cheer her up because she was sad about her marriage that ended.

In the previous years before then, the paths of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West had crossed many times as he was said to have collaborated with Kim on a puppet TV show in 2008 and then in 2009, they were seated on the same row at New York Fashion. As West later revealed, it was there that he started catching feelings for the woman that later became his wife. In 2010, he was at her 30th birthday party even though she was dating Miles Austin at the time. In 2011, when Kim Kardashian tried her hands at music, Kanye helped direct her music video.

After her divorce, West was in Paris to see a fashion show and Kardashian went over to stay with him. She revealed that as soon as she saw him this time around, she was madly in love with him that she wondered what had stopped her from dating him much sooner.

When Did Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Get Married?

More than one year later, Kanye spent more than $3 million on October 21, 2013, which was Kim’s birthday to propose to her.

By May 24, 2014, the two had tied the knot in a ceremony that held in Florence, Italy. The wedding which was kept very private did not have many people in attendance and those that came were not allowed to use their cell phones. What many found surprising was that the marriage was not shown on Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

They had two honeymoons; first, in Ireland and then, in Mexico. Years since the two began dating and subsequently got married, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are still together and going strong with a net worth of over half a billion dollars.
